And now, the bank\u2019s own network will be utilized for enabling easy fiat-to-crypto transfers via the new Nimiq wallet built on OASIS.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We made <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NimiqOASIS?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#NimiqOASIS<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Fastspot?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Fastspot<\/a> tech available to all the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/crypto?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#crypto<\/a> space.<br \/>Besides the integration in <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DYsYCpHwGB\">https:\/\/t.co\/DYsYCpHwGB<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TEN31Bank?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@TEN31Bank<\/a> announced that their partner <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/efinexchange?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@efinexchange<\/a> plans to use the tech in their future product.<br \/>Which Exchange should also take a look at OASIS? ? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AbxKpDhiGp\">pic.twitter.com\/AbxKpDhiGp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Nimiq (@nimiq) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nimiq\/status\/1365426085362597888?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 26, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The fiat (for the above) would be present in an escrow at a fully-licensed German bank, which Nimiq says are, currently, more trustworthy than using unregulated crypto exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>Nimiq says its self-custodial <a href=\"https:\/\/wallet.nimiq.com\">wallet <\/a>would allow a complete crypto newcomer to both create a wallet and buy NIM (Nimiq\u2019s native token) and BTC directly from their bank account in under five minutes, without registration, and at a small fee of 1.25%.<\/p>\n<p>This is unlike most crypto purchase experiences for newcomers today\u2014users need to first find a crypto exchange that supports fiat currencies, request their bank to process a payment (this is a <i>headache<\/i> for many), wire the amount, deal with KYC procedures, and then finally receive the amount over 2-3 days later.<\/p>\n<p>With Nimiq, users can avoid that process altogether. Image: Nimiq<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Swapping limits and zero risks<\/h2>\n<p>As per the release, buying, selling, and swapping cryptocurrencies is limited to 500$ (~400\u20ac) per transaction and 1000$ (~800\u20ac ) on a 30 days rolling window. The limits may be increased in the coming months, but that, however, would require additional authentication (KYC).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhile supporting larger swaps is certainly on our roadmap, we believe current limits to already enable most individuals to participate in the cryptoverse,\u201d Nimiq said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Nimiq\u2019s upcoming transition to <a href=\"https:\/\/nimiq.com\/albatross\">Proof-of-Stake<\/a> will make the protocol one of the fastest single-chain protocols in the world, with the upcoming Nimiq 2.0 said to be the \u201cmost significant\u201d upgrade for NIM swaps because of its high transaction speed of around 1 second.<\/p>\n<p>There are some improvements on the banking side as well: Nimiq says banks\u2019 new APIs are expected to have a considerable impact on the entire process, in addition to reducing time spent waiting for EUR transactions to register.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, because Nimiq uses the pre-funded escrow mechanism of non-custodial atomic swaps, the process helps to eliminate bilateral (counterparty) risk, meaning users can trust the fast, accessible, and simple process for all their fiat-to-crypto needs and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Disclaimer<\/strong>: None of the information in this article is meant to be financial advice.
