If it\u2019s exposed that there are more paper claims on silver than actual silver, not only would payoff be enormous, but gold would be next,\u201d he tweeted, adding, \u201cBitcoin fixes this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over the past few days, rumors that Reddit group WallStreetBets (known for the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/gamestop-rally-is-evidence-of-bitcoins-proof-of-concept-says-fund-manager\/\">pump of GameStop stock)<\/a>\u2014is now targeting silver have created a lot of buzz on the Internet. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-01-29\/reddit-mob-bids-up-silver-other-commodities-are-harder-to-crack\"><i>Bloomberg<\/i><\/a>, a coordinated band of retail traders initially managed to pump the price of silver by up to 6.8% last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>However, some members of WSB have recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/wallstreetbets\/comments\/l9runf\/the_silver_squeeze_is_a_hedgefund_coordinated\/\">denied their involvement<\/a> in the \u201csilver squeeze,\u201d pointing out that such a campaign would only benefit large hedge funds.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#39;ve seen a lot of commentary about &#39;Reddit traders&#39; and silver, but by our numbers only 3% of the mentions of tickers on wallstreetbets today were <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24SLV&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$SLV<\/a>.
