Three years later, CNBC got back in touch with the nomad family to find out that they\u2019re still accumulating BTC and buying every dip they can.<\/p>\n<h2>A family that\u2019s been selling everything for Bitcoin since 2017<\/h2>\n<p>Holding Bitcoin bags has been touted as somewhat of a lifestyle by the crypto community, but few have embraced it as much as the Taihuttus, a Dutch family that sold everything they had for <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a> back in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Didi Taihuttu made news three years ago when he liquidated all of his family\u2019s assets\u2014including a profitable business and a 2,500-square-foot house\u2014and traded it all in for Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe stepped into bitcoin, because we wanted to change our lives,\u201d the 42-year-old father of three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/12\/03\/bitcoin-family-invested-their-retirement-and-savings-in-bitcoin-ethereum-litecoin.html?__source=facebook%7Ccrypto+\">told<\/a> CNBC.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Since 2017, the family has been living a nomadic lifestyle, visiting 40 countries while staying true to their goal of not having much in terms of personal possessions.<\/p>\n<p>While this might seem extreme to many, Taihuttu doesn\u2019t seem to have a problem hodling. He told CNBC that the bulk of his BTC was bought in early 2017, when it was trading for around $900.<\/p>\n<h2>In it for the long ride<\/h2>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s fall from its $20,000 ATH several months later hasn\u2019t deterred Taihuttu from investing in the cryptocurrency. The insanely inflated crypto bubble began bursting at the end of 2017, with Bitcoin dropping to $3,000 in early 2018.<\/p>\n<p>However, Taihuttu kept his outlook positive and decided to double down on his investment:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen bitcoin dipped, we started to buy more.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now a crypto veteran, Taihuttu holds an extremely bullish view when it comes to the crypto market. When asked whether he believes Bitcoin\u2019s latest rally could be another bubble, he said that he didn\u2019t believe that demand for Bitcoin is going down as it did in 2017. He believes that the market is currently headed for a supply crisis, CNBC reported, adding that there are clear <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bitcoins-rally-from-12000-has-been-mostly-driven-by-institutional-hunger-data\/\">differences<\/a> between the two rallies.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen PayPal starts to sell bitcoin to its 350 million users, they also need to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bitcoin-shortage-paypal-bought-70-of-all-mined-btc-last-month\/\">buy<\/a> the bitcoin somewhere,\u201d said Taihuttu. \u201cThere will be a huge supply crisis, because there won\u2019t be enough new bitcoins mined everyday to fulfill the need by huge companies.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Taihuttu, the market could see a minimal pea of $100,000 when it comes to Bitcoin.
