That being said, the success of many blockchain-related projects has begun shifting this trend as more new investors flood the crypto market.<\/p>\n<p>One prominent angel investor still isn\u2019t convinced that the nascent market is mature enough to warrant him making any sound investments, however, as he believes that 99% of crypto projects existing today are \u201cgarbage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He does note that the remaining 1% of projects that can deliver functional and practical products could \u201cchange the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Uber \/ Robinhood angel investor rails against crypto industry<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Jason Calacanis is well known in the investing community due to his early investments in a handful of major so-called \u201cunicorns\u201d \u2013 including Uber, Robinhood, and others.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being an early internet adopter and riding multiple trends that have shaped the traditional investment landscape, Calacanis remains highly skeptical of the crypto markets.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, he has offered mixed outlooks on Bitcoin and the crypto industry as a whole, claiming in May of 2019 that BTC will \u201clikely be replaced by a new technology\u201d due to it being heavily \u201cmanipulated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jason\/status\/1133062427665321986\">notoriously stated<\/a> that it would likely decline to somewhere between $0 and $500 in the future.<\/p>\n<p>He later offered a slightly more bullish outlook on the cryptocurrency while speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/anthony-pompliano\/\">Anthony \u201cPomp\u201d Pompliano<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rM1a3Lor_j4\">an episode of his podcast<\/a> from last week, in which he said he would be open to allocating a small portion of his net worth to Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>This weekend, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jason\/status\/1276970865477816321\">Calacanis said<\/a> that he still believes \u201c99% of crypto projects are garbage\u201d and that most are being run by delusional and unqualified \u201cidiots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He did, however, note that 1% of crypto projects that don\u2019t fit into this category do have the chance to change the world.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHistorically, 99% of crypto projects are garbage run by unqualified idiots, delusional but below average founders or grifters&#8230; the 1% that are not, could change the world. I\u2019m waiting for that 1% to deliver their product so I can talk to their customers. You got customers?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Max Keiser: Reluctance from investors to enter the markets is adding to \u201cpent-up\u201d buying pressure<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/max-keiser\/\">Max Keiser<\/a> \u2013 an early Bitcoin investor and outspoken advocate of the benchmark digital asset \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/maxkeiser\/status\/1276976294572568577\">explained<\/a> in reference to Calacanis\u2019 comments that reluctance from investors to enter the crypto market is contributing to \u201cpent-up buying\u201d pressure.<\/p>\n<p>He contends that hesitant investors will eventually start panic buying Bitcoin, helping to fuel a major uptrend.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMore pent-up buying. At some point, Jason will start panic-buying BTC. The more he procrastinates now, the bigger the panic-buys later.
