From a 12 percent pump on TRX to a last-minute cancelation and reschedule, what has to be one of the most expensive meals on record grabbed the headlines \u2014 a lot.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that Alibaba founder Jack Ma\u2019s protege was on a quest to convince the world-famous investor and Berkshire Hathaway CEO to change his mind as far as cryptocurrencies are concerned. Sun even went as far as to take several supporters with him including Litecoin creator <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/charlie-lee\/\">Charlie Lee<\/a>, and the CEO of eToro, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/yoni-assia\/\">Yoni Assia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So, what happened? Here are the top five takeaways.<\/p>\n<h2>1. You can\u2019t teach an old dog new tricks.<\/h2>\n<p>Or to <a href=\"https:\/\/satoshi.nakamotoinstitute.org\/posts\/bitcointalk\/287\/\">use the infamous words<\/a> of Satoshi:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/02\/24\/warren-buffet-interview-live-updates.html?__source=twitter%7Cmain\">interview<\/a> posted by CNBC yesterday, it turns out that the Tron CEO had an uphill battle all the way.<\/p>\n<p>Buffett had his mind firmly made up about cryptocurrencies the whole time. He conceded (somewhat condescendingly) that Sun and his friends had &#8220;behaved&#8221; perfectly but sustained his extreme anti-crypto stance, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Cryptocurrencies basically have no value and they don\u2019t produce anything\u2026 It doesn\u2019t reproduce, it doesn\u2019t deliver, it can\u2019t mail you a check, it can\u2019t do anything\u2026 In terms of value, zero.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI don\u2019t own any cryptocurrency. I never will,\u201d Warren Buffett tells <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BeckyQuick?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BeckyQuick<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AskWarren?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AskWarren<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0VjIDJSi7L\">https:\/\/t.co\/0VjIDJSi7L<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/il4cT2hWkP\">pic.twitter.com\/il4cT2hWkP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; CNBC (@CNBC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CNBC\/status\/1231939235139268611?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 24, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>He did say that he had enjoyed a &#8220;very pleasant&#8221; dinner though.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Buffet says he doesn\u2019t own any cryptocurrency and never will.<\/h2>\n<p>When interviewer Becky Quick points out that Sun gave Buffett some bitcoin, he visibly starts to squirm. &#8220;What's it like to be a Bitcoiner?&#8221; she jokes. To this, Buffet negates that he has any, chortling uncomfortably when he replies:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I don\u2019t have any Bitcoin.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;You don't own Bitcoin?&#8221; she asks again:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I don\u2019t own any cryptocurrency, I never will.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>3. Sun proves otherwise.<\/h2>\n<p>Taking to Twitter in response, Sun provides the blockchain explorer records to prove that Buffett is, in fact, the proud owner of both <a href=\"https:\/\/btc.com\/3AsXDKX1etLgegepVeJbhj7WeZiypVMgdt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BTC<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tronscan.org\/#\/address\/TFtQ66PeCKB29CKoLGyTYsh3k9oU6tuy7L\">TRX<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The cryptos $BTC\/ $TRX Mr. Buffett owns remain intact w\/ blockchain proof which is the beauty of blockchain.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The cryptos <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a>\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24TRX&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$TRX<\/a> Mr. Buffett owns remain intact w\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/blockchain?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#blockchain<\/a> proof which is the beauty of blockchain. I won\u2019t interpret Mr.Buffett as a crypto investor, which he\u2019s not. He only has the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a>\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24TRX&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$TRX<\/a> I gifted him in his <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Samsung?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Samsung<\/a> Galaxy Fold, which is a 20% return thus far!<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Justin Sun (@justinsuntron) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/justinsuntron\/status\/1232180205424218112?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 25, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Of course, whether Mr. Buffett understands how to access them or not appears to be a moot point since he maintains cryptocurrencies have zero value. And as Sun gifted the cryptocurrencies on Buffett\u2019s Samsung Galaxy smartphone, many of his followers point out that the billionaire most likely got rid of the phone. One said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;He gave the phone away or threw it in the trash.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While another commented ironically:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Doesn't Buffett still use a flip phone?&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In actual fact, it turns out that they weren't too far from the truth. Buffett later <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SquawkCNBC\/status\/1232272324491173888\">confirmed<\/a> that he did receive the cryptocurrency from Justin Sun. However, he immediately gave it to the same charity foundation as the $4.6mn.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Buffett jokes about launching &#8216;WarrenCoin'.<\/h2>\n<p>This is where the whole ridiculous affair takes on yet another side of stupid as Justin Sun talks about supporting WarrenCoin on Tron.<\/p>\n<p>Buffett did joke in the interview (after destroying cryptocurrencies and their worth) that he might start his own &#8220;Warren currency&#8221;. He said there would only be 21 million of them and investors could have a &#8220;little ledger sheet&#8221; from him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;But you can't do anything with [cryptocurrency] except sell it to someone else.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That clearly got the Tron founder thinking. He took to Twitter again saying that he would support a WarrenCoin &#8220;wholeheartedly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I will support WARRENCOIN on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TRON?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TRON<\/a>! WARRENCOIN would be a great crypto & I would support it wholeheartedly! 7 billion WARRENCOIN will be issued without monetary value, which means everyone should have one and be Mr. Buffett&#39;s fan. Embarrasing for the crypto industry.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>and:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This is actually proving buffets point.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>5. Sometimes it's okay to agree to disagree.<\/h2>\n<p>Let's be honest. Did anyone really think that the rising Sun was going to change the 89-year-old Buffett's mind?<\/p>\n<p>We may fervently believe in the core competencies and value of crypto, but that doesn't mean everyone has to.
