Following the announcement, BAT surged nearly 11 percent, but a technical index estimates that a correction could be underway.<\/p>\n<h2>Basic Attention Token derivatives on Binance<\/h2>\n<p>In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/support\/articles\/360039719631\">blog post<\/a>, the world\u2019s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/binance\/\">Binance<\/a> revealed that it will launch a Basic Attention Token perpetual contract on its crypto derivatives trading platform, Binance Futures. The newest financial instrument will be leveraged and paired against stablecoin <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/tether\/\">Tether<\/a> (USDT).<\/p>\n<p>The BAT\/USDT perpetual swap is scheduled to begin trading on Feb. 13 at 08:00 AM (UTC) and traders will be able to select any leverage from 1x up to 50x. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/changpeng-zhao\/\">Changpeng Zhao<\/a>, Binance\u2019s CEO, the high leverage on this contract aims to meet professional traders\u2019 demand for such products.<\/p>\n<p>Zhao <a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/blog\/391838076530913280\/Binance-Futures-Trading-Platform-Increases-Max-Leverage-to-125x-with-BuiltIn-Risk-Controls-for-Traders\">explained<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe have seen an increase in institutional participation in trading, and these professional traders seek out the most efficient ways to trade very quickly, both in terms of cost and performance.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The announcement appears to have sparked interest among market participants in Basic Attention Token pushing its price up significantly. Despite the bullish impulse, this cryptocurrency could face a retracement.<\/p>\n<h2>The uptrend could find an exhaustion point<\/h2>\n<p>The TD sequential indicator is currently presenting two sell signals on BAT\u2019s 4-hour chart. One in the form of a green nine candlestick and the other as a sequential 13 candle. These bearish formations estimate that Basic Attention Token could retrace for one to four candlesticks before continuing its bullish trend.<\/p>\n<p>A spike in the selling pressure behind this cryptocurrency around the current price levels could validate the bearish outlook. BAT could then plunge to the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.285.<\/p>\n<p>Breaking below this support level could ignite a steeper decline to the 61.8 or 50 percent Fibonacci retracement levels.
