{"id":124451,"date":"2020-02-05T03:00:34","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T03:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=124451"},"modified":"2020-02-05T03:06:57","modified_gmt":"2020-02-05T03:06:57","slug":"analyst-this-pattern-shows-bitcoin-could-be-bound-for-a-massive-july-breakout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/analyst-this-pattern-shows-bitcoin-could-be-bound-for-a-massive-july-breakout\/","title":{"rendered":"Analyst: this pattern shows Bitcoin could be bound for a massive July breakout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The past couple of days have been rocky for Bitcoin (BTC), with the benchmark cryptocurrency facing some notable downwards pressure in the time following its recent rejection at $9,600.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that the rejection at this level \u2013 although bearish over the short-term \u2013 may actually throw Bitcoin into a highly bullish long-term technical formation that could result in another major breakout in July of this year.<\/p>\n<p>In order for this pattern to be confirmed, however, it is imperative that the crypto establishes strong support around $6,800 if it sees a significant pullback, as a defense of this level could lead the crypto to enter a bullish accumulation phase.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin inches towards $9,000 as the technical situation grows bearish<\/h2>\n<p>At the time of writing, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bakkt-claimed-its-bitcoin-futures-contracts-wouldnt-be-traded-on-margin-for-market-integrity-turns-out-they-are\/\">Bitcoin<\/a> is trading down just over one percent at its current price of $9,200, which marks a notable decline from daily highs of $9,400.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s buyers were able to defend against a drop to $9,100 earlier today, but the bullish response to this level has been tempered.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this, it does appear that a visit down to the BTC\u2019s key short-term support at $8,800 is imminent, which is further supported by technical analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Teddy \u2013 a popular cryptocurrency analyst \u2013 spoke about this in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TeddyCleps\/status\/1224581238133911553\">recent tweet<\/a>, telling his followers that BTC is looking relatively weak on its daily chart.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cDaily looking relatively weak: &#8211; MACD testing a bear cross &#8211; High 8s never tested as support &#8211; Mid 7s never tested as support (keeps me awake at night).\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"attachment_124452\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-124452\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-124452 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TeddyBTC-1024x484.jpg\" alt=\"Bitcoin BTC\" width=\"1024\" height=\"484\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TeddyBTC-1024x484.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TeddyBTC-300x142.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TeddyBTC-768x363.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TeddyBTC-1536x725.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TeddyBTC-2048x967.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-124452\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image Courtesy of Teddy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>BTC could enter bullish accumulation phase if it holds above this key level<\/h2>\n<p>If <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bitcoin-community-goes-bonkers-as-twitter-adds-btc-emoji\/\">Bitcoin\u2019s bulls<\/a> are able to hold it above $6,800 in the case of a strong pullback, this move could be followed by an extended bout of sideways trading that marks an accumulation phase.<\/p>\n<p>TraderXO \u2013 another well-respected analyst \u2013 mused this possibility in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TraderX0X0\/status\/1224739246650675201\">tweet<\/a>, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBTC &#8211; The &#8216;bigger' picture. If this is one big accumulation phase and the local top is almost in&#8230; Then I wont be surprised to see either one of the schematics playing out on btc.
