He isn&#39;t letting the last payment for BitTorrent get out of escrow.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Bram Cohen\ud83c\udf31 (@bramcohen) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bramcohen\/status\/1154436575251447809?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 25, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Crisis strikes TRON and BitTorrent CEO Justin Sun once again.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the most recent controversy, Sun <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tron-founder-justin-sun-cancels-lunch-warren-buffet-health-complications\/\">canceled lunch<\/a> with Warren Buffett after winning a $4.57 charity auction, and then rescheduled the meeting, after \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tron-founder-justin-sun-cancels-lunch-warren-buffet-health-complications\/\">sudden kidney stones<\/a>.\u201d At the same time, a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/justin-sun-darkest-hour-apologizes-over-marketing-tron\/\">slew of accusations<\/a> from Chinese state-sponsored media organizations\u2014including allegations that Sun\u2019s businesses are facilitating gambling and pornography transactions in China\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/justin-sun-darkest-hour-apologizes-over-marketing-tron\/\">resulted<\/a> in him allegedly getting barred from leaving the country.<\/p>\n<p>Justin Sun was last seen <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/justin-sun-darkest-hour-apologizes-over-marketing-tron\/\">via live stream<\/a> in San Francisco, with several sources including Chinese financial news site Caixin claiming he is evading Chinese authorities.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">If you don&#39;t understand what being reported on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/caixin?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@caixin<\/a> means:<\/p>\n<p>Caixin is questioning how Justin was able to escape China&#39;s exit ban. All Chinese high political figures where their scandle stories are reported on Caixin ended up in prison, regardless which country they fled to <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/K5J2KgYZ7o\">https:\/\/t.co\/K5J2KgYZ7o<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; RamenPanda (@IamRamenPanda) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IamRamenPanda\/status\/1153998324615327744?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 24, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Accusations of failed payment for BitTorrent<\/h2>\n<p>Now, BitTorrent\u2019s founder Bram Cohen is alleging that Justin Sun is not making the final payment on the problematic problematic BitTorrent deal. Justin Sun agreed to purchase the torrenting company for $140 million in June 2018, with a few complications.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/torrentfreak.com\/images\/suncomplaint.pdf\">Legal paperwork<\/a> filed in early 2018 reveals that BitTorrent suddenly changed its name to \u201cRainberry\u201d ahead of the TRON acquisition. Then, Rainberry was sued because it violated a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/n\/no-shop-clause.asp\">No-Shop<\/a>\u201d clause in the acquisition agreement with Justin Sun, <a href=\"https:\/\/torrentfreak.com\/tron-founder-plans-to-buy-bittorrent-inc-180525\/\">reported<\/a> TorrentFreak.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWithin literally hours after the parties agreed to the Letter of Intent&#8230; Defendant claims it received three \u2018superior\u2019 bids from companies that [BitTorrent] admitted they had been communicating with,\u201d claims Sun in the lawsuit.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Later, news broke that both <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/neo\">NEO<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/eos\">EOS<\/a> offered higher bids for the company, with NEO offering $170 million, a full $50 million more than TRON\u2019s offer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/not-just-tron-neos-failed-170-million-bid-to-buy-bittorrent-revealed\">reported<\/a> CoinDesk. It seems the contract held firm, with Justin Sun\u2019s offer still ultimately succeeding.<\/p>\n<p>Even after the deal was confirmed there were additional hiccups. Without explanation, Cohen left the company <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bittorrent-founder-exits-company-ahead-of-tron-acquisition\/\">ahead<\/a> of its acquisition.\u00a0Shortly after the purchase went through, in January 2019 Sun launched an ICO for BitTorrent, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/trons-bittorrent-ico-raises-7-million-15-minutes\/\">raising<\/a> $7 million in 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Now while Justin Sun struggles with Chinese authorities and alleged health complications, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bramcohen\/status\/1154448212532420611?s=20\">Cohen claims<\/a> that the escrow agency responsible for the deal has not received \u201csignoff\u201d on the remainder of the funds.<\/p>\n<p>TRON Foundation head of business development Roy Liu <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/roylxy\/status\/1154481717152899072?s=20\">responded<\/a> to Cohen, saying money in escrow is &#8220;not considered Justin's cash&#8221; and that Sun had already signed the release agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Bram Cohen <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bramcohen\/status\/1154454124789809152?s=20\">responded<\/a> sharply, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Are you claiming you aren't trying to get any of the cash back?
