Under the agreement, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/ripple\/\">Ripple<\/a> would become MoneyGram\u2019s partner for cross-border payments and foreign exchange settlement using xRapid, the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/xrp\/\">XRP<\/a>-powered settlement service.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">An industry defining milestone: together, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MoneyGram?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MoneyGram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ripple?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Ripple<\/a> are solving the challenges with cross-border payments using the speed and efficiency of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/XRP?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#XRP<\/a>.  <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xIfeJJgSy7\">https:\/\/t.co\/xIfeJJgSy7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Brad Garlinghouse (@bgarlinghouse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bgarlinghouse\/status\/1140718125207318528?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 17, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>As part of the agreement, Ripple agreed to provide a $50 million capital commitment to MoneyGram, enabling Ripple to spend up to $50 million in exchange for equity in MoneyGram over a two-year period.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is a huge milestone in helping to transform cross-border payments and I look forward to a long-term, very strategic partnership between our companies,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/brad-garlinghouse\/\">Brad Garlinghouse<\/a>, CEO of Ripple.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The partnership will focus on Ripple\u2019s xRapid, a solution for providing on-demand liquidity.
