That social network will, I promise you, end up being built on top of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Everipedia?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Everipedia<\/a> to make it compatible with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24IQ&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$IQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>if you increase &quot;internet knowledge&quot;, you increase your IQ &#8211; simple!<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mahbod Moghadam (@mahbodmoghadam) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mahbodmoghadam\/status\/1134428731211206657?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>By June 1, the news was out and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/brendan-blumer\/\">Brendan Blumer<\/a>, the 32-year-old CEO at Block.one, revealed that the blockchain-enabled open-source software publisher\u2019s new social media network, called Voice, will be deployed on EOS, one of the largest platforms for building <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/products\/category\/dapps\/\">decentralized applications<\/a> (dApps).<\/p>\n<p>In an \u201cApple Keynote\u201d like presentation, Blumer explained that the existing social media platforms such as Facebook are designed to use their users data to primarily benefit the platform and their owners and management.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s the platform, not the user, that reaps the reward. By design, they run by auctioning our information to advertisers, pocketing the profit, and flooding our feeds with hidden agendas dictated by the highest bidder. Voice changes that.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Therefore, the new Voice social media network was born to give users more control over their data and also allow them to benefit from the content they produce.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cVoice will cultivate creation, sharing, discovery and promotion of content on social media platforms by real users, not bots and fake accounts. Through a truly self-sustaining economy of ideas, users will directly benefit from their ideas and engagement on the platform.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The way this announcement was handled gave signs of severe centralization issues to Weiss Ratings, which decided to lower EOS\u2019s technology score. This is a radical change in the agency\u2019s outlook towards EOS since it had been rated besides <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin\/\">bitcoin<\/a> on Weiss\u2019s emerging trends in the crypto markets <a href=\"https:\/\/weisscryptocurrencyratings.com\/reports\/WCY\/sq\/crypto-web-free-report\/assets\/pdf\/Dark-Shadows-with-a-Bright-Future-Weiss-Crypto-Report.pdf\">report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">EOS DOWNGRADE: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/EOS?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#EOS<\/a> has serious problems with centralization, and their event last week did anything to alleviate that, so we\u2019ve severely downgraded its technology score.
