{"id":101143,"date":"2019-04-08T13:07:16","date_gmt":"2019-04-08T20:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=101143"},"modified":"2019-11-07T05:59:03","modified_gmt":"2019-11-07T05:59:03","slug":"coinbase-pro-announces-support-for-eos-eos-maker-mkr-and-augur-rep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbase-pro-announces-support-for-eos-eos-maker-mkr-and-augur-rep\/","title":{"rendered":"Coinbase Pro announces support for EOS (EOS), Maker (MKR), and Augur (REP)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday,\u00a0Apr. 8, San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange <a href=\"\/companies\/coinbase\">Coinbase<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.coinbase.com\/eos-eos-augur-rep-and-maker-mkr-are-launching-on-coinbase-pro-25ef414793eb\">announced<\/a> the addition of <a href=\"\/coins\/eos\">EOS<\/a> (EOS), <a href=\"\/coins\/maker\">Maker<\/a> (MKR), and <a href=\"\/coins\/augur\">Augur<\/a> (REP) to its professional trading platform, Coinbase Pro.<\/p>\n<h2>Coinbase Pro's New Additions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/eos\/\">EOS (EOS)<\/a>: EOS is a blockchain protocol that enables horizontal scaling of decentralized applications, allowing developers to efficiently create high performance distributed applications.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/maker\/\">Maker (MKR)<\/a>: Maker is a decentralized autonomous organization on the Ethereum blockchain seeking to minimize the price volatility of its own stable token\u2014the <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/dai\">Dai<\/a>\u2014against the IMF\u2019s international currency basket SDR.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/augur\/\">Augur (REP)<\/a>: Augur is a decentralized oracle and peer-to-peer protocol for prediction markets. Reputation (REP) is a cryptocurrency, used by reporters during market dispute phases of Augur. REP holders must perform work, in the form of staking their REP on correct outcomes, to receive a portion of the markets settlement fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Next Steps<\/h2>\n<p>Coinbase will roll out the new listings in four stages.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"postList\">\n<li id=\"6783\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--p\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--li-strong\">Transfer-only.<\/strong>\u00a0After 12 pm PT on Monday, April 8, customers will be able to transfer EOS, REP, and MKR into their Coinbase Pro accounts. Customers will not yet be able to place orders and no orders will be filled on these order books. Order books will be in transfer-only mode for at least 12 hours.<\/li>\n<li id=\"9d3d\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--li-strong\">Post-only.<\/strong>\u00a0In the second stage, customers can post limit orders but there will be no matches (completed orders). Order books will be in post-only mode for a minimum of one minute.<\/li>\n<li id=\"4632\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--li-strong\">Limit-only.<\/strong>\u00a0In the third stage, limit orders will start matching but customers are unable to submit market orders. Order books will be in limit-only mode for a minimum of ten minutes.<\/li>\n<li id=\"5a4f\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--li-strong\">Full trading.<\/strong>\u00a0In the final stage, full trading services will be available, including limit, market, and stop orders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Recent Coinbase Asset Listings<\/h2>\n<p>The announcement comes shortly after Coinbase added a handful of other altcoins including <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/when-xrp-coinbase-pro-now-adds-ripple-xrp\/\">XRP<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/stellar-lumens-xlm-listing-on-coinbase-pro\/\">Stellar Lumens<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/zcash-zec-launches-on-coinbase-ramping-up-listings\/\">Zcash<\/a>.
