Bassiri's exit comes several months after the Arca Digital Yield Fund – which he co-managed with Arca Chief Investment Offiucer Jeff Dorman – was shuttered. The Digital Yield Fund opened for business in the summer of 2021 but exposure to Terra's UST stablecoin and the fallout from that collapse led to the fund's closing in August.

Arca manages three other investment vehicles: the flagship Digital Assets Fund that invests in crypto company tokens, the venture capital-focused Arca Endeavor Fund and a non-fungible token (NFT) fund.
