Kayvon Thibodeaux, the potential top pick in the 2022 NFL draft, is launching his own cryptocurrency in partnership with Rally, a social token platform.

Fans of Thibodeaux who purchase his $JREAM token will have access to a private Discord channel and exclusive merchandise from The Players Trunk, a marketplace that resells player worn collegiate apparel.

Thibodeax is just the second college athlete to launch their own cryptocurrency behind UCLA basketball’s Jaylen Clark, who is also partnered with Rally. Thibodeax was previously involved in a non-fungible token (NFT) partnership with Nike founder Phil Knight and famed sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield back in July, his first ever name, image and likeness (NIL) deal.

Thibodeax says he’s most excited about the community aspect of the partnership, seeing it as “more of an investment in my fans and our community rather than just putting money into cryptocurrency,” he told CoinDesk in an interview.

The Oregon edge rusher has also pledged 20% of the initial token supply and 100% of weekly activity rewards to The JREAM Foundation, an organization he started to empower underprivileged youth through education.

“The JREAM foundation will hopefully one day open up a school, and I hope the JREAM token can be a part of that,” Thibodeaux told CoinDesk. “Whether it be helping middle school kids, high school kids understand finance and cryptocurrency, I want to help put them into that world.”
