{"id":9209,"date":"2022-05-24T18:39:32","date_gmt":"2022-05-24T18:39:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci02a1fdbbf00024c5"},"modified":"2022-05-24T18:39:32","modified_gmt":"2022-05-24T18:39:32","slug":"stripe-and-opennode-to-release-app-for-bitcoin-payments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/stripe-and-opennode-to-release-app-for-bitcoin-payments","title":{"rendered":"Stripe To Enable Millions of Merchants To Convert Payments Into Bitcoin via OpenNode"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><ul>\n<li>Stripe, one of the largest payment processors in the world, just announced businesses will be able to convert any amount of payments into bitcoin.<\/li>\n<li>The functionality is available via a new app from Bitcoin Lightning Network infrastructure provider, OpenNode, on Stripe\u2019s new app marketplace.<\/li>\n<li>Stripe simultaneously announced the launch of its app marketplace which allows custom UIs to integrate with Stripes global customer base.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stripe, one of the leading payment processors in the world, just <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OpenNode\/status\/1529139887617744898?s=20&amp;t=Hz-KPJKjC3xff29pbWn9sQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;they are working with bitcoin payments infrastructure company OpenNode, to allow businesses to convert fiat payments into bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>Through the OpenNode app located in <a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.stripe.com\/apps\/opennode\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stripe\u2019s app marketplace<\/a>, users will be able to convert fiat payments into bitcoin in real time. Businesses can set an automatic amount of their payments to be converted into bitcoin, or they will be able to manually convert any amount into bitcoin they wish. <\/p>\n<p>Businesses will be able to view their bitcoin wallets and conversion rates at a glance within the app, as seen below.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/68747470733a2f2f66696c65732e7374726970652e636f6d2f6c696e6b732f4d44423859574e6a64463878533078305548524d64305a34575442525448467066475a7358327870646d56665758467753317042613256695347704f65465a4f5230525864-2.png\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n<p>The application will also allow businesses to connect directly with their bank accounts enabling accessible bitcoin conversions from fiat at any time as depicted below.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/68747470733a2f2f66696c65732e7374726970652e636f6d2f6c696e6b732f4d44423859574e6a64463878533078305548524d64305a34575442525448467066475a7358327870646d56664e32677753586c4d627a464d4e6b5a4f655663784d47383256-2.png\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n<p>The automatic conversion from fiat to bitcoin is accomplished through a split-payment feature located in the app, which businesses will be prompted through when going through the initial setup process. Should businesses choose not to set up split conversion initially, they can simply return to the app\u2019s setting and enable the feature at any time. <\/p>\n<p>Stripe\u2019s app marketplace was also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stripe\/status\/1529131769202606081\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> today which will allow companies like OpenNode to create customer user interfaces that will streamline workflows and allow data syncing compatibility between Stripe and its participating partners. <\/p>\n<p>Using Stripe\u2019s open application programmable interface (API), developers can start building apps that will support Stripe integrations.
