{"id":6651,"date":"2022-10-11T13:22:28","date_gmt":"2022-10-11T13:22:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci02ad8274c00026d0"},"modified":"2022-10-11T13:22:28","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T13:22:28","slug":"google-cloud-to-accept-bitcoin-crypto-payments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/google-cloud-to-accept-bitcoin-crypto-payments","title":{"rendered":"Google To Accept Bitcoin, Crypto For Cloud Services In Coinbase Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><ul>\n<li>Google will enable a subset of customers to pay for cloud services with bitcoin and cryptocurrency.<\/li>\n<li>The new payment method will go live early next year in a partnership with Coinbase.<\/li>\n<li>The exchange will migrate its data platform to Google Cloud.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Google will start accepting bitcoin and cryptocurrency as payment for its cloud services early next year.<\/p>\n<p>The internet giant announced on Tuesday that it had formed a partnership with the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the U.S., Coinbase, to enable the new payment method.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPowered by Coinbase Commerce \u2014 which enables merchants globally to accept cryptocurrency payments in a decentralized way \u2014 the new payments experience will benefit Google Cloud\u2019s customers and partners by increasing the optionality of payments for Google Cloud services,\u201d Google said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/google-cloud-and-coinbase-launch-new-strategic-partnership-to-drive-web3-innovation-301645592.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, said the company\u2019s focus is to make it \u201cfrictionless for all customers to take advantage of our scalability, reliability, security, and data services\u201d so clients can focus on innovating in the cryptocurrency space.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Google will use Coinbase Prime, the exchange\u2019s institutional cryptocurrency investing and custody platform.
