{"id":21036,"date":"2018-11-03T00:10:22","date_gmt":"2018-11-03T00:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci027cfe7000092697"},"modified":"2018-11-03T00:10:22","modified_gmt":"2018-11-03T00:10:22","slug":"coinbase-officially-adding-support-basic-attention-token-bat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/markets\/coinbase-officially-adding-support-basic-attention-token-bat","title":{"rendered":"Coinbase Is Officially Adding Support for Basic Attention Token (BAT)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/coinbase-is-officially-adding-support-for-basic-attention-token-bat.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n<p>On November 2, 2018, Coinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.coinbase.com\/basic-attention-token-bat-is-launching-on-coinbase-pro-3b61a23e9306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that it would be integrating support for Basic Attention Token (<a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/basic-attention-token\/#markets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BAT<\/a>), an ERC-20 token that is designed to work out-of-the-box with the privacy-centric <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/articles\/brave-browser-to-launch-clean-ads-for-a-faster-web-powered-by-bitcoin-micropayments-1458927248\">Brave Browser<\/a>, on CoinbasePro.<\/p>\n<p>BAT will initially trade against USD Coin (USDC), a stablecoin that Coinbase developed with Circle Ltd. and recently added to its platforms. The new offering is not available on Coinbase\u2019s primary platform, and the company said it would make a separate announcement when this occurs.<\/p>\n<p>The offering is being integrated on Coinbase Pro in the following order of stages: \u201cTransfer-only,\u201d \u201cPost-only,\u201d \u201cLimit-only\u201d and finally a \u201cFull trading\u201d stage. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf at any point the BAT\/USDC order book does not meet our assessment for a healthy and orderly market, we may keep the book in one state for a longer period of time, or suspend trading as per our Trading Rules. Any other BAT order books we launch will also go through the same stages,\u201d according to a Coinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.coinbase.com\/basic-attention-token-bat-is-launching-on-coinbase-pro-3b61a23e9306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will accept deposits for at least 12 hours prior to enabling trading.
