{"id":17340,"date":"2021-03-22T21:34:55","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T21:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci027eba69000024ee"},"modified":"2021-03-22T21:34:55","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T21:34:55","slug":"skybridge-capital-files-for-bitcoin-etf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/markets\/skybridge-capital-files-for-bitcoin-etf","title":{"rendered":"SkyBridge Capital Files For Bitcoin ETF"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><p>In the latest within a growing trend, SkyBridge Capital has filed for regulatory approval with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to offer a bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1852143\/000144554621001542\/skybridge_s1.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S-1 filing<\/a> dated on March 19, the firm. run by former White House communications director and recent bitcoin convert <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/markets\/interview-anthony-scaramucci-on-bitcoin-fund-strategy\">Anthony Scaramucci<\/a>, applied to be to offer the product to be called The First Trust SkyBridge Bitcoin ETF Trust.<\/p>\n<p>According to the filing, the investment objective of the trust is \u201cto reflect the performance of bitcoin less [its] liabilities and expenses.\u201d It would seek to hold as close to 100 percent of its net assets in bitcoin as possible.<\/p>\n<p>SkyBridge is just the latest group to file for regulatory approval to offer a <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/guides\/what-is-a-bitcoin-etf\">bitcoin ETF<\/a> in the U.S., which no group has received to date. In recent weeks, V<a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/race-for-the-first-bitcoin-etf-in-the-u-s-is-heating-up\">alkyrie Digital Assets, Cboe Global Markets<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/markets\/nydig-files-for-bitcoin-etf-approval\">NYDIG<\/a> have all made similar filings with the SEC.
