{"id":17009,"date":"2021-04-14T18:01:29","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T18:01:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci02809e9e0000276c"},"modified":"2025-10-02T09:40:29","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T14:40:29","slug":"gryphon-raises-14-million-for-zero-carbon-bitcoin-mining-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/gryphon-raises-14-million-for-zero-carbon-bitcoin-mining-operation","title":{"rendered":"Gryphon Raises $14 Million For Zero-Carbon Bitcoin Mining Operation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2021\/04\/13\/2209346\/0\/en\/Gryphon-Digital-Mining-Raises-14-Million-to-Launch-Bitcoin-Mining-Operation-with-Zero-Carbon-Footprint.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release<\/a>, Gryphon Digital Mining has raised $14 million in a Series A fundraise for the launch of a zero-carbon footprint Bitcoin mining operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Gryphon, our long-term strategy is to be the first vertically integrated crypto miner with a wholly-owned, 100 percent renewable energy supply,\u201d said Rob Chang, CEO of Gryphon Digital Mining, per the release. \u201cOur vision is to further develop and use economically viable, renewable, off-grid energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The announcement noted that institutional investors made up more than 30 percent of the Series A and it closed in a little over two weeks. It also noted that Gryphon has partnered with a data center that grants it access to electricity costs as low as $0.013 per kilowatt hour (kWH).
