{"id":16833,"date":"2021-04-28T16:43:15","date_gmt":"2021-04-28T16:43:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci0281c4c910002458"},"modified":"2021-04-28T16:43:15","modified_gmt":"2021-04-28T16:43:15","slug":"bubba-gump-mortons-to-accept-bitcoin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/bubba-gump-mortons-to-accept-bitcoin","title":{"rendered":"CEO Of Morton&#8217;s, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Says Restaurants Will Start Accepting Bitcoin This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><p>The chairman of Landry\u2019s hospitality group, operator of restaurant chains like Morton\u2019s steakhouses and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., said in a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/04\/27\/bitcoin-tilman-fertitta-says-most-landrys-restaurant-brands-to-soon-accept-it.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with CNBC that most of his restaurants will be accepting bitcoin as payment very soon. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll have it, probably, within all of our restaurant brands \u2014 or 80% to 90% \u2014 in the next 90 days, where you don\u2019t have to use a Mastercard or Visa or American Express anymore,\u201d Landry\u2019s Chairman and CEO Tilman Fertitta said. \u201cYou can use bitcoin or other digital currencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Select locations of Matsro\u2019s, one of the group\u2019s chains, will be accepting bitcoin this week, Fertitta said.<\/p>\n<p>A car dealership in Texas that Fertitta owns has reportedly accepted bitcoin since 2018 and he noted that his NBA franchise, the Houston Rockets, \u201care taking it as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing how simple the transaction is, and it is here to stay,\u201d Fertita explained. \u201cThis is where it is, and it\u2019s inevitable that this was going to happen.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>About 20 days ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/caruso-to-accept-rent-in-btc-allocate-portion-of-treasury-to-btc\">Caruso<\/a>, a major real estate company, disclosed plans to accept bitcoin as payment for rent.
