{"id":15588,"date":"2021-07-20T20:53:30","date_gmt":"2021-07-20T20:53:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci02889f13c0002569"},"modified":"2021-07-20T20:53:30","modified_gmt":"2021-07-20T20:53:30","slug":"ftx-bitcoin-exchange-raises-900-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/ftx-bitcoin-exchange-raises-900-million","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin Exchange FTX Raises $900 Million, Largest Raise In Exchange History"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><p>Today, fan-favourite bitcoin exchange FTX Trading Ltd. announced the completion of a 900 million Series B fundraise at an $18 billion valuation, per a release sent to <em>Bitcoin Magazine<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, over 60 investors participated such as the Paul Tudor Jones family, Coinbase Ventures, VanEck, Insight Partners and many more. Many of the investors had nothing but spectacular things to say about the company and its CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried. \u201cCrypto has the potential to disrupt our global financial system, and we believe FTX will be core to this theme for years to come,\u201d said Deven Parekh, managing director at Insight Partners. \u201cWe believe this is only the beginning of FTX\u2019s growth story and are thrilled to partner with them on the journey ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be allocated to \u201cfurther expand its product offerings and user base,\u201d as well as leveraging the funds to grow the business via strategic investments, according to the release. To help drive even more growth for the company, they will be expanding their network of partnerships they have for their FTX Pay, FTX Liquidity program and FTX NFT business lines. This will no doubt noticeably increase the company&#8217;s presence worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Bankman-Fried commented on today&#8217;s news stating, \u201cI\u2019m incredibly humbled by the support we\u2019ve gotten. It\u2019s our first large fundraise, but through it we\u2019ve formed a hugely valuable set of partners.
