Job Summary
Role
šAs part of the Developer Productivity team, you will be responsible for building and enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction of Whatnotās engineering teams. Your mission includes crafting seamless workflows, automating tedious tasks, and unleashing the full potential of our talented developers. šMaintain an efficient CI/CD pipeline to help developers ship the software faster and safer in a structured environment. šBuild local environment tooling to enable the engineering team to build and test product features swiftly and safely. šWork with the engineering team to get services deployed across different environments. šImplement and optimize developer workflow to reduce friction and increase productivity. šProviding recommendations for architecture and process improvements.

Weāve found that low ego, a growth mindset, and leaning into action and high impact goes a long way here. šAs our next Developer Productivity Engineer, you should have 5+ years of developer productivity or similar experience, helping build scalable systems that can handle millions of users, plus: šBachelorās degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience. šExcellent developer experience instincts. You first think about engineer experience rather than the best technical solution. šPrevious experience at a hyper-growth startup. Youāre a self-starter who can hit the ground running with little direction. šPrior experience in a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP) using Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Terraform. šExpert knowledge of various CI/CD workflows. šExceptional coding skills and the ability to ship lightning-fast. We primarily use Python and Elixir, but previous knowledge of each is not required. šExcellent communication and writing skills.
