Job Summary

What you'll work on:

šŸ“As the Senior Manager of Technical Operations, you will serve as a key leadership node for our global infrastructure. You will manage a high-density talent team of site reliability engineers, guiding them through the operational challenges of running high-performance blockchain nodes and AI-enhanced cloud systems. šŸ“Team Leadership & Growth: Perform full lifecycle management for a team of 6+ SREs. Mentor the team on integrating AI coding assistants and LLM-based tooling to accelerate velocity. šŸ“Arc Network Operations: Oversee the reliability and performance of the Arc blockchain infrastructure. This includes managing validator sets, bootnodes, and consensus participation (via the Malachite engine) to ensure sub-second finality and zero downtime for our sovereign chain. šŸ“Multi-Chain Infrastructure (3rd Party): Manage the fleet of RPC nodes, indexers, and bridge infrastructure for Ethereum, Solana, and chains. Ensure high availability for our connectivity to these external networks, optimizing for the unique latency and throughput challenges. šŸ“Smart Incident Management: Act as the primary Incident Commander during critical APAC events. Champion the use of AI to automate root cause analysis (RCA) and generate real-time incident summaries, particularly for cross-chain bridge events or consensus stalls. šŸ“AIOps & Observability: Drive the adoption of AI/ML capabilities within our observability stack. Move beyond static thresholds to dynamic anomaly detection that can distinguish between a cloud hardware failure and a blockchain network fork. šŸ“Infrastructure as Code: Oversee the architecture of our cloud infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes). Lead initiatives to use generative AI for scaffolding infrastructure code (Terraform/Helm), ensuring strict adherence to security standards for key management and signing services. šŸ“Technical Debt & Toil: Ruthlessly prioritize the elimination of toil. Use intelligent automation to handle repetitive node upgrades and patch management, freeing your Staff Engineers to solve complex architectural problems.

What you’ll bring to Circle (not all required):

šŸ“Experienced Leadership: 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with a track record of leading SRE, DevOps, or Blockchain Protocol teams. šŸ“Blockchain Native: You understand the difference between running a validator and running an RPC Node. You have experience managing infrastructure for L1 chains (e.g., Solana, Sui) or EVM-based networks (Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum). šŸ“Technical Pedigree: 8+ years of experience in software engineering or systems operations. You have a pulse on generative AI (LLMs) and how to apply it to DevOps, as well as deep knowledge of distributed ledger technology (DLT). šŸ“Cloud Native Mastery: Deep understanding of public cloud (AWS, GCP) and Kubernetes. šŸ“Coding Proficiency: Proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python. The ability to read and debug smart contract interactions or node configurations is highly valued. šŸ“Global Mindset: Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones. You communicate complex technical concepts, like consensus failures or bridge latency, clearly to both humans and automated systems.
