{"id":628958,"date":"2026-08-28T13:16:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T17:16:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=628958"},"modified":"2026-08-28T13:16:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T17:16:17","slug":"tron-activates-ethereum-compatible-upgrade-with-passkey-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/tron-activates-ethereum-compatible-upgrade-with-passkey-support\/","title":{"rendered":"TRON activates Ethereum-compatible upgrade with passkey support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TRON has activated a network upgrade designed to make Ethereum applications easier to bring onto its blockchain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Proposal 107<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received <\/span><b>25 approvals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> before taking effect on <\/span><b>August 28<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with the changes providing the groundwork for wallets that use passkeys instead of conventional passwords.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ethereum applications face fewer barriers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/tronprotocol\/tips\/issues\/916\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The upgrade<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> introduces features from <\/span><b>Ethereum\u2019s Prague and Osaka updates<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the TRON Virtual Machine, which runs applications on the network.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now developers have less of the software to change to allow an application to move from one network [such as Ethereum] to the others [such as TRON].<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/tron-price-prediction-can-100m-inflows-push-trx-toward-0-40\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRON<\/a> developers had to adjust for newer Ethereum tools, meaning errors or older settings for dApps in the TRON ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The proposal brings the two environments closer together, and make TRON more attractive to teams that already build Ethereum applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further to this, the upgrade will enable an application to look further back into the blockchain to verify transactions previously made, helping services where earlier transactions need to be confirmed and rely less on data providers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>How passkeys could make TRON wallets easier to use<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead of remembering passwords, users can sign in to applications using the security features built into phones or computers. These features depend on the computer being used but include fingerprints, a scan of the user&#8217;s face or a PIN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new capability makes it cheaper for TRON applications to verify signatures created through systems such as Apple Secure Enclave and Android Keystore. Wallets that offer a more familiar sign-in experience could get more support without users personally managing every security step.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But passkeys have not suddenly just appeared across existing <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/trons-1b-stablecoin-surge-outpaces-every-chain-what-it-means\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRON<\/a> wallets.
