However, staking has not started, and Fidelity warns that funding cash distributions could reduce the fund\u2019s ETH exposure.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Fidelity gearing up for Ethereum staking with FETH<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a subsequent\u00a0 Form 8-K\u00a0 on <\/span><b>August 7<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Fidelity stated it had amended trust and sponsor agreements for FETH to allow staking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Custody agreements have also been drawn up with Anchorage Digital and BitGo but Fidelity Digital Assets will continue its existing role as the fund&#8217;s custodian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The amended registration statement indicates that FETH will stake up to <\/span><b>100%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of its ETH, but is not committed to any minimum amount.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As custodians, Fidelity will keep hold of the private keys, and its chosen operators will run Ethereum validators. The proposed node operators include Blockdaemon, Figment and Galaxy Digital Trading Cayman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>85% of these rewards will go to FETH while 15%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will go to the sponsor, custodians, node operators, and other service providers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Staking will start only after the amended registration statement becomes effective.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>FETH reaches nearly $900M in assets<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of <\/span><b>August 11<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, FETH has Net assets of <\/span><b>$898.71m<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and Cumulative Net inflows of <\/span><b>$2.12 billion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sosovalue.com\/bigChart\/Etf_CBOE_FETH?title=Fidelity%20Ethereum%20Fund(FETH)&amp;coin=ETH&amp;page=usETH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SoSoValue data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data shows that daily flows remain uneven, and the fund recorded a <\/span><b>$2.33 million<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> net outflow, alongside <\/span><b>$19.64 million<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in trading volume.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The firm plans to convert eligible staking income into fiat and distribute it to shareholders quarterly. These payments are not, however, guaranteed<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fidelity states that selling rewards and current holdings of ETH may also be a method employed to pay distributions. This would likely reduce FETH&#8217;s exposure to ETH and it would no doubt affect its NAV [Net Asset Value] and share price.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u200b<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides this, staking introduces more risks, such as slashing, validator failure, or having withdrawal delays.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><b>Final Summary<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FETH could stake up to 100% of its ETH and retain 85% of gross staking rewards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FETH has not commenced staking, and by funding quarterly cash distributions they would reduce FETH&#8217;s underlying ETH exposure.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FETH may stake up to 100% of its Ethereum holdings after its amended SEC registration statement becomes effective.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":76,"featured_media":624625,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[31,66,3,4,20],"tags":[6689],"class_list":["post-624622","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-altcoins-news","category-new-news","category-news","category-social","category-trading-view","tag-united-states"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.0 (Yoast SEO v28.4) -
