As the market flips risk-on, whale accumulation isn\u2019t exactly out of the ordinary. <\/span>However, one recent move suggests otherwise. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to Lookonchain, Garrett Jin, a former Ethereum [ETH] whale who recently exited all his ETH positions, has accumulated over 71,000 Binance Coin [BNB], worth nearly $50 million. And it doesn\u2019t stop there, as more whales appear to be accumulating BNB as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Naturally, the question becomes: Is smart money<\/a> positioning ahead of a potential BNB\/ETH breakout, or does this reflect noise driven by short-term flows? <\/span><\/p>\n

From a technical standpoint, traders cannot rule out the former, with the BNB\/ETH pair on track for a potential third consecutive green quarter, up around 3.10% so far in Q2.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking closer, a divergence appears to be forming.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite BNB\u2019s stronger quarterly streak, Ethereum\u2019s<\/a> monthly performance has been more consistent, with ETH averaging roughly 7% gains in both March and April.<\/span><\/p>\n

In contrast, BNB has shown more choppy price action, roughly a 0.5% uptick followed by a 0.33% pullback in April.<\/span><\/p>\n

In essence, ETH is still exhibiting steadier momentum on a monthly basis, while BNB\u2019s relative strength looks more flow-driven and rotational in nature, raising the question: does whale accumulation now look set to shift the narrative in Binance Coin\u2019s favor?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

BNB’s relative momentum vs ETH\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

For blockchains, stablecoins remain a key factor in judging one L1\u2019s strength over another.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The logic is simple: higher liquidity directly drives network activity and supports fundamentally driven rallies rather than speculative momentum. This divergence is clearly playing out in Binance and Ethereum\u2019s setup.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the chart below shows, total stablecoin supply on Binance Chain (BSC) has increased over 77%, rising from $9 billion to more than $16 billion. <\/span><\/p>\n

In contrast, Ethereum\u2019s supply has grown by over 35% over the same period. Despite Ethereum\u2019s dominance, BNB\u2019s<\/a> network is seeing roughly 2x faster stablecoin growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

The result? As AMBCrypto flagged<\/a>, BNB is attracting steady capital inflows across key growth sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n

To put this into perspective, according to RWA.xyz, the total value of real-world assets on Binance Chain is up over 13% on a 30-day basis, compared to Ethereum\u2019s -5% decline. <\/span><\/p>\n

This divergence points to a rotation in activity, where newer liquidity inflows appear more concentrated in BSC despite Ethereum\u2019s larger base. <\/span><\/p>\n

In essence, the gap is not about dominance but about momentum. <\/span>Accordingly, the same momentum is now showing up in BNB\/ETH technicals as well. <\/span><\/p>\n

This makes the recent whale rotation from ETH to BNB look less like a fluke and more like a strategic setup, with Q2 shaping in favor of Binance Coin over Ethereum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
