This price bounce from $83.8k measured 11.24%, made in under three days.<\/p>\n<p>It was argued that the recent, deep retracement below $90k was a part of a cyclical reset. The result is expected to be a transition to a bear market in the coming months and a further price drawdown.<\/p>\n<p>But what if this retracement was not the end? These conditions were necessary to mark a bottom in the market. USDT.D, or Tether Dominance on TradingView, showed how much of the crypto market cap Tether constitutes. As USDT.D rises, it implies market-wide selling and bearish conditions.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, it faced rejection at the 6.47% resistance level. This level has served as resistance since November 2023. Each revisit has been followed by a sizeable drop in Tether dominance.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, the Bitcoin and altcoin bottom was likely in.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The bearish scenario<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>CEO and Founder of IntoThe Cryptoverse, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/intocryptoverse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Benjamin Cowen<\/a>, believed that we are on the way to $60k-$70k in 2026. On the way, a bounce to the 200-day moving average (now at $109.4k) would mark a<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/intocryptoverse\/status\/1990515705515815337?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> macro lower high<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the short term, whales <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/joao_wedson\/status\/1996238037320126792?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">closing their longs<\/a> could also mean that smart money believed the upside is limited.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The bull case for an altcoin bottom<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Vanguard Group allowed crypto ETFs and related mutual funds on its platform on the 2nd of December. This could mean that crypto is <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/vanguard-just-caved-50m-investors-can-now-trade-crypto-etfs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">entering the mainstream<\/a> once more. <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/are-bitcoin-etf-inflows-finally-back-after-ibit-etfs-7-jump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin ETF inflows<\/a> also indicated demand.<\/p>\n<p>The Ethereum [ETH] <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/all-about-ethereums-fusaka-upgrade-can-it-push-eths-price-to-7k\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fusaka upgrade<\/a> allows Ethereum to roll out targeted, high-impact improvements in a much shorter cycle, among other things.
