NFTs outpace DeFi in user engagement<\/strong><\/h2>\n

July saw record liquidity in DeFi, with total value locked hitting $270 billion (a 30% monthly jump).<\/p>\n

But the bigger story was NFTs taking the lead in user activity.<\/p>\n

DappRadar data shows<\/a> 3.85 million Daily Active Wallets engaged with NFT DApps, slightly more than in DeFi. NFT trading volumes surged 96% to $530 million, while average prices doubled to $105.<\/p>\n

Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Rolex joined Nike and Coca-Cola in NFT pilots, while interest in legacy collections like CryptoPunks spiked, accounting for nine of the top ten sales in the past day.<\/p>\n

NFT recovery still trails 2021 highs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

July\u2019s bounce has not erased the broader slowdown in NFTs.<\/p>\n

2024 trading volumes fell 19% year-on-year, while sales counts slid 18%, making it one of the weakest years since 2020. CryptoSlam figures<\/a> for H1 2025 put total sales at $2.82 billion – down 4.6% from late 2024.<\/p>\n

Even with July\u2019s sharp rise in activity and floor prices, the market remains far from its 2021 peak, when monthly volumes reached tens of billions.<\/p>\n
