“Historically, when lawmakers advance industry-backed frameworks, institutional sentiment strengthens. We expect capital that was previously sidelined due to regulatory uncertainty to re-enter.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

However, not everyone is on the same page about the impact these bills will have on the U.S. financial landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking from the other side of the podium, Representative Maxine Waters of California voiced her concerns in a recent interview<\/a> with CNBC, suggesting<\/span>\u00a0that there’s more to these proposals than meets the eye.<\/p>\n

According to her, the legislation appears to be crafted with significant influence from industry stakeholders, raising questions about whether true consumer safeguards are being prioritized.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Julia Demidova, head of digital currencies product and strategy at FIS, interest in stablecoins is growing rapidly.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I think everyone is realizing, look, this is moving forward and they need to have a stablecoin strategy. They need to think how banks themselves will position against some of these novel, new, emerging fintech-issued stablecoins as well.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Echoing similar sentiments, crypto analyst and Coin Bureau founder Nic Puckrin also added,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, the stablecoin market is, for all intents and purposes, a duopoly. The market is nearly entirely dominated by Circle\u2019s USDC and Tether\u2019s USDT.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He pointed out that the market could witness an influx of new issuers, especially from traditional banking institutions eager to capitalize on the clarity the legislation promises. <\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the momentum behind the GENIUS Act, concerns persist among Democratic lawmakers who argue that the bill falls short in addressing critical safeguards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Allegedly, the legislation could open the door for major tech firms to launch their own private stablecoins, raising red flags around market dominance and data privacy. <\/span><\/p>\n

These developments coincide with heightened market activity, with Bitcoin [BTC]<\/a> recently touching a new all-time high of $122,000 before retreating<\/a> to $117,000 following geopolitical tensions tied to Trump\u2019s tariff threat. <\/span><\/p>\n
