Instead, traders have redirected funds toward other asset classes they believe offer greater long-term potential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Here\u2019s how AMBCrypto discovered this trend.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">Retail interest in Bitcoin gradually fades<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">There has been a decline in interest in Bitcoin-related search terms on the Google Search engine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">According to Google Trends, search interest in Bitcoin has dropped to 37\u2014one of the lowest points this year. Normally, one would expect interest to be higher given the current Bitcoin euphoria. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">However, that is not the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">A case in point is the sharp increase in search interest from 56 to 100 following the announcement of President Donald Trump&#8217;s victory in the 2024 searching for Bitcoin, likely with the intent to buy. <\/span><span class=\"s2\">In fact, Bitcoin witnessed a significant rally to new market highs as liquidity flooded in during that period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">When there is a drop in search interest like this, it implies that market liquidity is moving toward other assets.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">Bitcoin dominance drops as reserves stall<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The outflow of liquidity from Bitcoin is further confirmed by the decline in Bitcoin Dominance and Exchange Reserves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The metric, which measures BTC\u2019s market cap relative to the entire crypto market, has dropped from 64.4% on the 8th of May to 61% at press time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">This drop implies that capital is flowing into alternative assets.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure or other cryptocurrencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">Where\u2019s the market moving?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">An analysis of overall ecosystem activity and the performance of top tokens shows that memecoins have attracted the most liquidity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">According to CoinMarketCap, the top-performing altcoins\u2014cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin\u2014over the past 90 days have been primarily memecoins.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_491650\" href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/pepe-coin-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pepe [PEPE]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Further analysis shows that more memecoins are likely to join the ranks of the top-performing cryptocurrencies, as the sector\u2019s momentum continues to tilt in their favor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">According to sector-specific performance metrics, Bitcoin and the broader Bitcoin ecosystem have dropped by -0.9% and -0.5%, respectively, over the past seven days. <\/span><\/p>\n<p
