Good news for BTC?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BlackRock\u2019s Bitcoin ETF is now the fastest-growing fund, surpassing $50 billion AUM in 11 months.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin\u2019s price surpasses $100K as BlackRock\u2019s ETF attracts institutional investors and dominates the market.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/blackrocks-bitcoin-holdings-near-satoshis-is-a-btc-battle-brewing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BlackRock Inc\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has set a new standard in the exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Launched in January 2024, the fund achieved $50 billion in assets under management (AUM) within 11 months.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, this growth has made it the fastest-growing ETF of all time, surpassing records across all asset classes, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-12-30\/blackrock-s-bitcoin-fund-became-greatest-launch-in-etf-history\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bloomberg<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Blackrock Bitcoin ETF breaks records<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The iShares Bitcoin Trust has reached milestones at a pace no ETF has matched before. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Todd Sohn, managing director of ETF and technical strategy at Strategas Securities, noted that IBIT\u2019s asset size now equals the combined AUM of over 50 long-established European ETFs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nate Geraci, president of The ETF Store, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NateGeraci\/status\/1873895878270107720\">described<\/a> IBIT\u2019s launch as \u201cthe greatest in ETF history.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart estimated that with its current AUM and a 0.25% expense ratio, the fund is projected to generate $112 million annually in revenue for BlackRock.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>A boost for BTC<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The launch of IBIT also marked a major shift for Bitcoin. With BlackRock\u2019s support, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/bitcoin-price-prediction\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin\u2019s [BTC]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> price surged past $100,000 for the first time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The world\u2019s largest asset manager, overseeing more than $11 trillion, brought institutional legitimacy to the cryptocurrency, attracting both traditional investors and individuals who had previously been cautious.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The road to IBIT\u2019s launch followed years of regulatory hurdles. Efforts to secure approval for a spot-Bitcoin ETF began as far back as 2013, with repeated rejections from the Securities and Exchange Commission (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/secs-crypto-regulations-are-authoritarian-whims-lawmakers-say\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SEC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A breakthrough came in 2023 when Grayscale Investments won a federal court ruling overturning the SEC\u2019s rejection of its Bitcoin trust conversion application. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soon after, BlackRock entered the scene, leveraging its regulatory expertise and reputation to gain approval in early 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Dominance in a competitive market<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IBIT has become a leader in the crowded <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/u-s-bitcoin-etfs-see-record-671-9m-outflow-amid-crypto-market-turmoil\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin ETF market<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which now holds $107 billion in assets across 12 funds. BlackRock\u2019s offering accounts for more than half of the daily trading volume among these funds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since its launch, IBIT has experienced outflows on only nine days, reflecting consistent investor interest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fund\u2019s introduction of options trading on the 19th of November strengthened its appeal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research firm Asym500 reported that IBIT\u2019s Options have become some of the most traded among ETFs, with an average daily volume of $1.7 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Competing products, including those from Fidelity and Grayscale, trail far behind, averaging just 1% of IBIT\u2019s volume.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Vanguard\u2019s approach<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While BlackRock has embraced Bitcoin ETFs, its competitor Vanguard has stayed out of the space.
