style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grayscale Investments, a digital currency asset manager, has finalized reverse share splits for its <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/bitcoin-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin [BTC]<\/a> Mini Trust ETF (BTC) and <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/a> Mini Trust ETF.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The changes took effect on the 20th of November, following the reverse share splits executed the previous evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">David LaValle, Grayscale\u2019s Global Head of ETFs, stated in a recent <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grayscale.com\/blog\/general-updates\/btc-eth-reverse-share-splits-are-coming-what-you-need-to-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blog<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> post,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBased on feedback from our clients, we believe this is the right decision and beneficial to our clients and the investment community.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For context, a reverse share split combines several shares into one, reducing total shares but raising the share price.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Implications of the reverse share split\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The firm noted the advantages of reverse share splits, emphasizing their ability to streamline trading and make it more \u201ccost-effective\u201d for market participants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of this latest move, Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF underwent a 1:10 reverse share split.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This increased the price per share to 10 times its pre-split net asset value (NAV) while reducing the number of shares outstanding proportionately.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF executed a 1:5 reverse split, raising the price per share to five times its pre-split NAV with a corresponding decrease in shares may find themselves holding fractional shares post-split.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on their Depository Trust Company (DTC) participant\u2019s policies, these fractional shares can either be tracked internally or aggregated and sold, with shareholders receiving cash proceeds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notably, fractional shares are ineligible for trading on the NYSE Arca.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Grayscale\u2019s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF performance<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the split, the firm\u2019s ETFs for Bitcoin and Ethereum showed mixed performance, according to Yahoo Finance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/BTC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">closed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at $41.84, marking a 1.80% increase during regular trading hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, the Ethereum Mini Trust <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/ETH\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ended<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at $28.93, representing a depreciation of 0.92%. However, it saw a pre-market rise to $29.58, gaining 2.25%.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>BTC ETF options begin trading<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reverse share splits precede a major development for the firm.
