This has encouraged institutions to replicate this success with other altcoins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereum-etfs-are-here-everything-to-know-before-you-start-trading\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launch<\/a> of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ETFs <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in July, all eyes are now on the XRP ETF, the cryptocurrency tied to <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/xrp-ripple-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ripple<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, given Ripple\u2019s regulatory troubles, is an XRP ETF approval even possible?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>XRP ETF dreams may come true<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eDXPfjEYS8Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with Bloomberg TV, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shed light on the matter, expressing confidence in the future of such an ETF. He said,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt&#8217;s just inevitable. You&#8217;re going to see not just Bitcoin and ETH, you&#8217;re going to see an XRP ETF.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Garlinghouse emphasized the growing demand from both retail and institutional investors for access to digital assets, noting the rapid success of the Bitcoin ETF as a clear sign of this trend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He suggested that the introduction of an XRP ETF would be a natural step in this evolving market.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>BTC ETFs are an exception, not the rule<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The allure of altcoin ETFs may be strong, but their success is far from guaranteed. AMBCrypto has previously <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/253-million-positive-for-bitcoin-spot-etfs-while-ethereum-still\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on ETF ETFs\u2019 underwhelming inflows compacted to BTC ETFs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While many argue that the former has fallen short of expectations, Garlinghouse begs to differ.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exec remarked,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI actually think the ETH ETF has done very well.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He elaborated that the market participation levels have been proportional to its market dominance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, Garlinghouse underlined the growing community interest surrounding XRP, both in the U.S. and globally, expressing optimism that an XRP ETF would also perform well.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>XRP ETF filings and SEC troubles<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, to date, AMBCrypto noted that only two firms have filed for an XRP ETF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/bitwise-files-for-xrp-etf-how-did-the-community-xrp-price-react\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitwise<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/canary-joins-bitwise-in-the-xrp-etf-race-did-price-react\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canary Capital<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, Grayscale has submitted a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/grayscale-files-multi-crypto-etf-to-include-bitcoin-ethereum-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">proposal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to convert its multi-crypto fund into an ETF, which includes XRP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nonetheless, the path to an XRP ETF is far less straightforward than that of Bitcoin or Ethereum. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The SEC remains a major obstacle, primarily due to Ripple&#8217;s ongoing legal battle with the agency over whether XRP should be classified as a security.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While a federal judge ruled that XRP is not a security when sold to retail investors, the SEC\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/us-sec-files-appeal-in-ripple-case-xrp-sees-mixed-market-reaction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">appeal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and its broader reluctance to approve crypto ETFs continue to complicate the situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Impact on price<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following Garlinghouse&#8217;s statement, XRP rose over 0.20% over the last 24 hours.
