{"id":428173,"date":"2024-09-29T15:30:21","date_gmt":"2024-09-29T10:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=428173"},"modified":"2024-09-29T11:04:49","modified_gmt":"2024-09-29T05:34:49","slug":"avalanche-tvl-soars-back-above-1b-as-avax-bulls-face-resistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/avalanche-tvl-soars-back-above-1b-as-avax-bulls-face-resistance\/","title":{"rendered":"Avalanche TVL soars back above $1B as AVAX bulls face resistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>Bullish activity breathes more life into Avalanche TVL and stablecoin market cap.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Can AVAX hold on to recent gains as sell pressure gradually creeps back in?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/avalanche-2-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Avalanche [AVAX]<\/a> ecosystem has been experiencing a resurgence of activity as the market enters recovery mode. On-chain data revealed significant changes in some of Avalanche\u2019s metrics, especially the total value locked (TVL).<\/p>\n<p>Avalanche\u2019s TVL is a long way off from its historic high. It peaked at $11.49 billion in December, 2021, but the network experienced heavy outflows during crypto winter.<\/p>\n<p>The TVL dipped below $500 million in September last year and only managed to push back above $1 billion this week.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_428176\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-428176\" style=\"width: 664px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Avalanche-TVL-and-stablecoin-marketcap.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-428176 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Avalanche-TVL-and-stablecoin-marketcap.jpg\" alt=\"Avalanche\" width=\"664\" height=\"314\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Avalanche-TVL-and-stablecoin-marketcap.jpg 664w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Avalanche-TVL-and-stablecoin-marketcap-300x142.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 664px) 100vw, 664px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-428176\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DeFilLlama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Avalanche had a $1.07 billion TVL at the time of writing. While this is a noteworthy recovery, it still pales in comparison to the historic highs. We also observed significant recovery in the network\u2019s stablecoin market cap to a $2.31 billion local high.<\/p>\n<p>The network\u2019s stablecoin market cap hit a low of $536.96 million in October 2023, which means it is now up by over 300%. But just like the TVL, Avalanche stablecoin market cap is currently at a fraction of its $4.67 billion peak in 2022.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Can the TVL and stablecoin market cap recovery support AVAX upside?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Stablecoin growth and TVL are vital measures of a network\u2019s growth and liquidity. They facilitate DeFi ecosystem growth so, technically this could signal more organic demand for AVAX moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>AVAX has been on a macro bearish trend since March, which seems to have leveled out in August.<\/p>\n<p>AVAX has so far rallied by almost 50% from its September lows. The cryptocurrency recently peaked at $30.85, but had a $29.33 press time price after a slight pullback in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_428175\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-428175\" style=\"width: 1013px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/AVAXUSDT_2024-09-28_16-01-27.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-428175 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/AVAXUSDT_2024-09-28_16-01-27.png\" alt=\"Avalanche\" width=\"1013\" height=\"585\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/AVAXUSDT_2024-09-28_16-01-27.png 1013w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/AVAXUSDT_2024-09-28_16-01-27-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/AVAXUSDT_2024-09-28_16-01-27-768x444.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1013px) 100vw, 1013px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-428175\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>AVAX bulls are starting to experience resistance, suggesting that sell pressure might be building up after its latest rally. Will another retracement take place? IntoTheBlock data showed that AVAX cruisers hold almost as much coins as HODLers.<\/p>\n<p>Cruisers are equivalent to short-term holders whose holding duration is less than 12 months.
