The mildly renewed strength in the midweek market action in the form of consecutive daily green candles over the past 7 days follows a period of price weakness in the last week of August.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ALGO wallets show accelerated growth amid price struggles<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Despite the repressed market action, Algorand has maintained an almost steady increase in number of wallets this year.<\/p>\n<p>ALGO addresses with a balance have grown by 990K this year per data from IntoTheBlock. IntoTheBlock\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/app.intotheblock.com\/coin\/ALGO\/deep-dive?group=financials&amp;chart=all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data<\/a> shows only 1.87 million addresses are in profit, representing 9.01% of holders.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ALGO technical outlook<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Algorand (ALGO) was trading at $0.14 at press time, facing downward pressure below the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA).<\/p>\n<p>From a technical analysis standpoint, ALGO\/USD is approaching a critical resistance zone between $0.149 and $0.152, which coincides with the 200-EMA. This range has proven to be a significant hurdle in the last three months after ALGO price slipped below the moving average on 7th June.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_427135\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-427135\" style=\"width: 1596px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-427135 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1596\" height=\"821\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart.png 1596w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart-300x154.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart-1024x527.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart-768x395.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart-1536x790.png 1536w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ALGOUSD-chart-1200x617.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1596px) 100vw, 1596px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-427135\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For ALGO\/USD to confirm bullish momentum, the pair would ideally need to break above this trendline. The pair unsuccessfully challenged the zone at the start of July before briefly overcoming it between 14th July and 22nd July.<\/p>\n<p>In the most recent attempt, ALGO\u2019s bullish momentum was thwarted at the height on 26th August.<\/p>\n<p>The zone also represents <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/decoding-algos-moves-key-indicators-and-future-prospects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a barrier that traders are closely monitoring<\/a> as a successful breach above it would put almost 140K addresses in profit.<\/p>\n<p>These addresses, currently underwater, hold a cumulative volume of 743.62 million ALGO per IntoTheBlock data. Clearing this zone would provide much-needed relief for ALGO bulls, potentially paving the way for further gains above $0.160.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Improved stablecoin market capital<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Algorand tracked significant stablecoin market cap growth in August, per the latest Algo insights report. The total stablecoins market capital on the chain, denominated in USD, rose from 85.53 million to 109.90 million, translating to a 28.5% bulge.<\/p>\n<p>Total USDC transactions also <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AlgoFoundation\/status\/1836169645847708077\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">increased<\/a> from 557K to 690K in the same period.<\/p>\n<p>This is notable given that Binance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/support\/announcement\/binance-margin-adds-new-trading-pairs-2024-08-30-6d101ebc8ec44e079eff3708e5275ddf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> the addition of cross and margin USDC pairs for ALGO on 30th August. Nearly all of Algorand\u2019s stablecoin market capital has shifted into USDC in light of Tether <a href=\"https:\/\/tether.io\/news\/tether-announces-strategic-transition-to-prioritize-community-driven-blockchain-support\/\">discontinuing<\/a> support for its USD\u20ae on the blockchain.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Is your portfolio green?
