But could this be one of the signs that ETH and the altcoin market are about to kick a major rally in what could be the start of altcoin season?<\/p>\n<p>The ETH\/BTC pair hit a low of $0.0387 in the last 24 hours. This was the lowest level that the currency pair has achieved since April 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It highlights how ETH has extended its weakness against Bitcoin, as well as further postponement of altcoin season.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_424097\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-424097\" style=\"width: 1013px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETHBTC_2024-09-16_12-14-49.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-424097 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETHBTC_2024-09-16_12-14-49.png\" alt=\"ETH\" width=\"1013\" height=\"585\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETHBTC_2024-09-16_12-14-49.png 1013w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETHBTC_2024-09-16_12-14-49-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETHBTC_2024-09-16_12-14-49-768x444.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1013px) 100vw, 1013px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-424097\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At the same time, the recent downside in the ETH\/BTC pair has demonstrated an <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intocryptoverse\/status\/1835484787278049305?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extended divergence<\/a>. Some analysts see this as a sign that a strong pivot might be about to take place.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Bitcoin dominance just hit a new YTD high at 58.07% in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Bitcoin dominance has also flashed a potential reversal sign with a divergence pattern.<\/p>\n<p>This suggests that it could face a major pivot which would pave the way for liquidity to flow into altcoins, in which case, ETH would benefit.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ETH&#8217;s sell pressure and demand<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>ETH has so far not demonstrated significant outflows. For example, exchange reserves pivoted on the 11th of September after achieving a new YTD low at 18.52 million coins.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_424099\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-424099\" style=\"width: 1040px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETH-exchange-reserves.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-424099 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETH-exchange-reserves.png\" alt=\"ETH\" width=\"1040\" height=\"434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETH-exchange-reserves.png 1040w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETH-exchange-reserves-300x125.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETH-exchange-reserves-1024x427.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ETH-exchange-reserves-768x320.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1040px) 100vw, 1040px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-424099\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: CryptoQuant<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There were 18.79 million ETH in exchange reserves at the time of writing. This reflected the resurgence of sell pressure that made a comeback during the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The cryptocurrency traded at $2,298 at press time. This was close to its opening price on Monday of the previous week, meaning it had given up its weekly gains.<\/p>\n<p>A deeper assessment of ETH\u2019s on-chain activity revealed that address activity was down to 262,786 addresses. Nevertheless, there were signs of ETH accumulation in as price dipped lower.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Read <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/ethereum-price-prediction\">Ethereum&#8217;s [ETH] Price Prediction<\/a> 2024\u20132025<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>For example, historical concentration revealed that whale addresses grew from 58.44 million coins on the 13th of August to 8.47 million coins on the 15th of September.<\/p>\n<p>Retail addresses grew from 64.94 million coins to 64.97 million coins during the same period.
