In fact, on 30th August, the US spot ETH ETFs record zero flows across the board<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> One analyst <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ByzGeneral\/status\/1829954403509682541\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">referred<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the zero flows as \u2018sad\u2019 and underscored a lack of interest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018I just realised that yesterday&#8217;s $ETH flow was a literal zero. For some reason, that&#8217;s even more sad than a negative flow. No one on this planet cares about ETH anymore lmao.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Is ETH underperformance a risk to Alt Season?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overall, the products have seen cumulative outflows since inception, worth $477 million per Farside Investors <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/farside.co.uk\/eth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Quinn Thompson, founder of crypto hedge fund Lekker Capital, the weak performance was \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/VdxMDkWZQwQ?feature=shared&amp;t=3738\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">detrimental<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 to the altcoin universe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe ETH ETFs\u2019 lacklustre performance is a detrimental sign to the rest of the altcoin universe\u2026Bitcoin dominance will rise\u2026ETHBTC is the alt barometer.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For context, the ETHBTC ratio tracks ETH\u2019s value relative to BTC. According to crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/intocryptoverse\/status\/1830100648563499438\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">outlook<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was uncertain as a similar scenario in 2019 led to altcoin capitulation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018#ALT \/ #BTC pairs monthly open in July 2019 when the Fed cut rates for the first time was 0.38. They capitulated to 0.29 that month. The monthly open in September 2024 for ALT\/BTC pairs is 0.38. The Fed will cut this month.
