{"id":414891,"date":"2024-08-16T14:00:56","date_gmt":"2024-08-16T08:30:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=414891"},"modified":"2024-08-16T12:28:12","modified_gmt":"2024-08-16T06:58:12","slug":"sand-posts-37-negative-returns-as-bitcoin-ethereum-gain-what-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/sand-posts-37-negative-returns-as-bitcoin-ethereum-gain-what-now\/","title":{"rendered":"SAND posts 37% negative returns as Bitcoin, Ethereum gain: What now?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>The Sandbox&#8217;s utility token is one of the worst-performing tokens in the current market cycle.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>SAND has traded below $0.35 for four consecutive weeks.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/bitcoin-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin [BTC]<\/a> and most altcoins registered mild gains on the 14th of August after the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released July\u2019s Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, which delivered a better-than-expected print.<\/p>\n<p>However, crypto prices across the board quickly reversed course, erasing the gains ahead of the daily close following reports of the U.S. government moving roughly 10,000 BTC to a Coinbase wallet.<\/p>\n<p>The news induced fears of a market dump, triggering a sell-off.<\/p>\n<p>The trading session of the 15th of August delivered more losses as the prices of high-cap cryptocurrencies, including <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/a>, fell again.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/the-sandbox-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Sandbox [SAND]<\/a> fell alongside other cryptocurrencies, marking its second consecutive daily red candle. Also, market data shows that SAND has been one of the worst-performing tokens in the current cycle.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_414892\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-414892\" style=\"width: 1595px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-414892\" src=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1595\" height=\"821\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH.png 1595w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH-300x154.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH-1024x527.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH-768x395.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH-1536x791.png 1536w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/SANDUSDT-returns-vs-BTC-and-ETH-1200x618.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1595px) 100vw, 1595px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-414892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The metaverse token has posted negative returns of 37% since the start of 2023 compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have gained 250% and 116%, respectively, during this period.<\/p>\n<h2>SSC Napoli&#8217;s metaverse partnership<\/h2>\n<p>This week, Serie A football club Napoli <a href=\"https:\/\/sscnapoli.it\/en\/ssc-napoli-enter-the-metaverse-partnering-with-the-sandbox\/\">announced<\/a> a collaborative initiative with The Sandbox, which will be its Web3 platform of choice to support entry into the metaverse.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian professional club seeks to create a virtual space within The Sandbox&#8217;s ecosystem to connect its players and fans worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The venture will offer fans immersive experiences, digital memorabilia, and virtual interaction.<\/p>\n<p>The Sandbox COO and co-founder, Sebastien Borget, said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;By introducing a new vertical of entertainment and co-experience through sports, The Sandbox is becoming a premier destination where fans can connect, celebrate their fandom with fellow supporters, and engage with their favorite teams in immersive and meaningful ways.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For The Sandbox, the partnership is significant as it strengthens its presence in the sports sector, attracting more users to its ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>It also expands the experiences and enhances the diversity of content available in The Sandbox, reinforcing its position as a major player in the metaverse space.<\/p>\n<h2>How is SAND faring?<\/h2>\n<p>In the midst of all these developments, SAND&#8217;s price climbed to $0.27 on the 13th of August and appeared to defend the level on the 14th of August before losing and dropping to $0.25.<\/p>\n<p>The SAND\/USDT pair ranged around this midweek low before attempting to retake $0.26 on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest price action, SAND slid sharply to $0.24, where it was trading heading into Friday.
