{"id":398978,"date":"2024-06-12T18:30:35","date_gmt":"2024-06-12T13:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=398978"},"modified":"2024-06-12T12:39:15","modified_gmt":"2024-06-12T07:09:15","slug":"bitcoin-how-fomc-meeting-cpi-report-could-influence-btcs-next-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/bitcoin-how-fomc-meeting-cpi-report-could-influence-btcs-next-move\/","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin: How FOMC meeting, CPI report could influence BTC&#8217;s next move"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BTC saw a surge in long liquidations in the past 24 hours.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This comes as the market awaits the release of the CPI report and the outcome of the Federal Reserve meeting.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/bitcoin-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin\u2019s [BTC]<\/a> price corrected to near $66,000 during the intraday trading session on 11th June, ahead of 12th June&#8217;s U.S. inflation report and FOMC meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The coin has, however, rebounded slightly since then to exchange hands at $67,243 as of this writing, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinMarketCap\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> data.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/06\/11\/fed-meeting-and-inflation-report-both-hit-wednesday-and-the-impact-could-be-huge.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a>, economists expect the May Consumer Price Index (CPI) to show a modest increase of 0.1% from April. However, this would still translate to a 3.4% annual increase in prices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Federal Reserve is expected to do nothing regarding interest rates. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, its officials will take other actions, such as releasing quarterly updates to their Summary of Economic Projections, which could be influenced by the CPI report.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Long traders bear the brunt<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BTC\u2019s price slump on 11th June led to a surge in long liquidations in its futures market. According to Gumshoe, \u201cThe market always prices in overly bearish statements, then reverses.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Read\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/bitcoin-price-prediction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Bitcoin\u2019s [BTC] Price Prediction<\/a>\u00a02024-2025<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another crypto analyst, Jelle, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CryptoJelleNL\/status\/1800474110218342705\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared<\/a> the same sentiments.
