Analyst predicts launch delay"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ETH ETF approval could be likely, but the official launch could take some time, per analyst.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mixed feelings on the potential threat of ETH ETF, if approved, to BTC ETFs.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crypto markets rallied early in the week following a positive update on US spot <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto-com.webpkgcache.com\/doc\/-\/s\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ETF approvals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart, despite the positive SEC update on the ETH ETF approvals, the official launch and listing could take longer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cStill a potentially long way from a launch. But these filings prove that all of the rumors and speculation and chatter have been accurate.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notably, on 21st May, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) submitted five amended 19b-4s on behalf of Fidelity, VanEck, Invesco\/Galaxy, Ark Invest\/21Shares, and Franklin Templeton.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While this renewed interest and update was positive, Seyffart <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JSeyff\/status\/1793043047367762405\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">added<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Need to actually see SEC approval orders on all the 19b-4s, AND THEN we need to see S-1 approvals. Could be weeks or more before ETFs launch.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 19b-4s forms are exchange rule changes submitted by exchanges for new funds, while S-1 filings are from individual issuers. Both forms must be approved before launching ETFs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Staking feature removed from Ethereum ETF filings<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another important update on the process was the apparent removal of ETH staking wordings from the recently amended 19b-4s filings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JSeyff\/status\/1793058529760219368\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seyffart<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the amended filings replaced previous staking wordings with outright clear writing, <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Fund&#8217;s ETH cannot be staked by anyone.\u2019<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most market watchers have long argued that the staking feature could complicate the approval process and raise questions about ETH\u2019s \u2018security\u2019 status.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nevertheless, some quarters aren\u2019t happy with the swift approval of ETH ETF, given that <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/bitcoin-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ETFs took almost 10 years to achieve.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> One user <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheBTCTherapist\/status\/1793057320378696134\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed<\/a> that an ETH ETF approval will indicate that the \u2018market is not regulated by competent actors.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The user added that the approval will make ETH a Bitcoin equivalent, yet Ethereum\u2019s ecosystem is full of \u2018centralized sh*tcoins.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On his part, Quinn Thompson, founder of crypto hedge fund Lekker Capital, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/qthomp\/status\/1792750125141389655\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">asserted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that ETF inflows could help ETH come out of the shadows of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/solana-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Solans[SOL]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and BTC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, Thompson added that ETH ETF, if approved, could attract inflows from BTC ETFs. Even Peter Schiff <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterSchiff\/status\/1792888635760517264\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">echoed<\/a> Thompson&#8217;s sentiment.
