{"id":393915,"date":"2024-05-23T01:30:05","date_gmt":"2024-05-22T20:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=393915"},"modified":"2024-05-22T15:00:25","modified_gmt":"2024-05-22T09:30:25","slug":"ethereum-sees-2-3b-in-inflows-as-etf-anticipation-sparks-optimism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereum-sees-2-3b-in-inflows-as-etf-anticipation-sparks-optimism\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum sees $2.3B in inflows as ETF anticipation sparks optimism"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum saw around $2.3 billion inflows.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ETH price rise triggered a notable short liquidation volume.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/a> recently experienced a significant price move, triggering a large volume of short liquidations and leading to a record inflow volume. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amid these developments, there is speculation that institutions might be preparing for the potential approval of an Ethereum-based financial product.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Ethereum sees significant flow into exchanges<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AMBCrypto&#8217;s analysis of <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereum-short-squeeze-3600-rally-wipes-out-80-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum&#8217;s<\/a> inflow chart on CryptoQuant showed that traders have moved to take advantage of the recent price increase. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the 21st of May, around 627,770 ETH, valued at over $2.3 billion at approximately $3,789 per ETH, flowed into exchanges. This marked the second-largest inflow volume in over a year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The largest inflow occurred in March when 648,000 ETH, also worth about $2.3 billion, were transferred. The Netflow indicated that more ETH was entering exchanges than leaving. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the 21st of May, the Netflow was around 49,000 ETH \u2014 this trend continued with an additional Netflow of over 5,600 ETH at the time of writing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Ethereum shorts see more liquidation<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another effect of the recent <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/why-is-the-crypto-market-up-today-btc-eth-lead-gains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum<\/a> price increase has been a surge in liquidation volume.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to AMBCrypto&#8217;s analysis of the liquidation chart, short traders have experienced significant liquidations in the past over $75.2 million, were liquidated, marking the second-highest short liquidation volume in over a year. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The trend continued on the 21st of May, with over 11,600 ETH worth around $44 million being liquidated.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Institutions preparing for ETF approval?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amid the recent price increase in <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereum-etfs-catastrophic-or-a-step-in-the-right-direction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum<\/a>, there is growing speculation about the imminent approval of an Ethereum ETF.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cryptoquant_com\/status\/1793005973084250329?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Commentators<\/a> are optimistic about this approval, and some analysts believe that institutions are already preparing for it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A CryptoQuant chart showed notable outflows of ETH on Coinbase on the 11th and 27th of March and 18th April, with volumes of approximately -134,000, -120,454, and -133,000 ETH, respectively. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similar outflow patterns were observed on Coinbase before the announcement of the Bitcoin ETF approval in January, suggesting that institutions to approximately $3,661 following a 19% increase on the 20th of May.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Read <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/ethereum-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum&#8217;s [ETH] Price Prediction<\/a> 2024-25<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to AMBCrypto&#8217;s assessment of the daily time frame chart, this upward trend continued on the 21st of May, with ETH reaching around $3,789 after a 3.50% increase, hitting a price zone last seen in March.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> As of this writing, Ethereum was trading at about $3,749, reflecting a decline of just over
