{"id":392002,"date":"2024-05-15T05:30:25","date_gmt":"2024-05-15T00:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=392002"},"modified":"2024-05-15T16:47:09","modified_gmt":"2024-05-15T11:17:09","slug":"ethereums-28-drop-what-happens-if-eths-2850-support-fails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereums-28-drop-what-happens-if-eths-2850-support-fails\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum&#8217;s 28% drop: What happens if ETH&#8217;s $2,850 support fails?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ETH was trading at a significant support level.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Key technical indicators hint at the possibility of a continued decline in ETH\u2019s value.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leading altcoin <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/a> is clinging to a crucial support level as its price trends within a descending channel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A descending channel is formed when an asset\u2019s price continues to make lower highs and lower lows, indicating a broader downward trend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Readings from ETH\u2019s price movements on a daily chart revealed the formation of this channel on 12 March. Since then, the coin\u2019s value has declined by 28%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> According to <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/ethereum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CoinMarketCap&#8217;s<\/a> data, the altcoin exchanged hands at $2915 as of this writing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>A break below or a break above?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If ETH bulls fail to defend the coin\u2019s current support level of $2,850, its price might initiate a decline below the lower trendline of the descending channel. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If this happens, the altcoin will exchange hands at the $2600 level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AMBCrypto\u2019s assessments of some key technical indicators hinted at the possibility of a break below the current support level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, ETH\u2019s key momentum indicators signaled that the coin\u2019s sell-offs outpaced its accumulation among market participants. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The coin\u2019s Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Money Flow Index (MFI) were positioned below their respective neutral spots at press time. ETH\u2019s RSI was 39.52, while its MFI was 49.39.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ETH\u2019s Elder-Ray Index returned a negative value, confirming the current bearish trend. This indicator measures the relationship between the strength of buyers and sellers in the market. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it returns a negative value, it means that bear power is dominant in the market.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Likewise, the dots that make up ETH\u2019s Parabolic SAR were spotted above its price at press time. These dots have been so positioned since the beginning of May.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Parabolic SAR indicator is used to identify potential trend direction and reversals.
