Aiming to reduce the amount of BTC in circulation, the event halved miner rewards from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Following the halving, the share of the total <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a> volume coming from miners has started to decrease notably. <\/p>\n<p>This is likely the result of a lower inflation rate, which currently sits at 1.66%. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tqUdc8IUNy\">pic.twitter.com\/tqUdc8IUNy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Sentora (@SentoraHQ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SentoraHQ\/status\/1788608804826788041?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 9, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the reduction in the total amount of coins received by miners on the Bitcoin network, their share of the coin\u2019s total volume often craters after a halving event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IntoTheBlock noted further that the decline in BTC miner rewards has also slowed the rate at which new BTCs are added to the coin\u2019s total supply. In fact. the on-chain data provider found that the prevailing inflation rate was around 1.66% on the charts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Mining activity on the Bitcoin network<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the halving event, BTC\u2019s Miner Supply Ratio has dropped slightly, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoquant.com\/asset\/btc\/chart\/flow-indicator\/miner-supply-ratio?miner=all_miner&amp;window=DAY&amp;sma=30&amp;ema=0&amp;priceScale=log&amp;metricScale=linear&amp;chartStyle=line\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CryptoQuant\u2019s<\/a> data. With a figure of 1.8 million BTC at press time, this has fallen by 0.11% since 19 April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This metric measures the amount of coins held in affiliated miners&#8217; wallets. Its value\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">indicates the reserves that miners are yet to sell.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Read\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/bitcoin-price-prediction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Bitcoin\u2019s [BTC] Price Prediction<\/a>\u00a02024-25<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is evidence of the fact that although some miners on the network have sold some off their coin holdings to book profits after the halving event, there has not been any significant selling activity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was confirmed by the drop in the coin\u2019s Miner to Exchange Flow.
