In the last week, the altcoin\u2019s value has declined by 19%, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/solana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinMarketCap<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This price drop mirrors the decline that has plagued the general crypto market in the past few weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/global-charts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinGecko\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> data showed that the global cryptocurrency market capitalization has dropped by 8% in the past 14 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the decline in SOL\u2019s price, there has been an unprecedented uptick in long liquidations in the coin\u2019s futures market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Liquidations happen in an asset\u2019s derivatives market when a trader&#8217;s position is forcefully closed due to insufficient funds to maintain it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long liquidations occur when the value of an asset suddenly drops, and traders who have open positions in favor of a price rally are forced to exit their positions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Coinglass, on the 12th of April, SOL\u2019s long liquidations totaled $41.49 million, marking its YTD high.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Possibility of a rebound in the short term?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SOL\u2019s key technical indicators, observed on a daily chart, suggested the possibility of a further decline in its value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, its Elder-Ray Index returned a negative value as of this writing. This indicator measures the relationship between the strength of buyers and sellers in the market. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When its value is negative, it means that bear power is dominant in the market.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the time of press, SOL\u2019s Elder-Ray Index was -35.17.
