The frenzy has attracted crypto degens in hordes, causing a steep spike in trading volumes on the network&#8217;s decentralized exchanges (DEXes).<\/p>\n<p>Solana-based DEXes did handle trades worth more than $60 billion in March, its all-time high (ATH) by a significant margin, as per AMBCrypto&#8217;s scrutiny of DeFiLlama&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_381905\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-381905\" style=\"width: 869px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/sol-dex-volumes.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-381905 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/sol-dex-volumes.jpg\" alt=\"Solana DEX volumes\" width=\"869\" height=\"408\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/sol-dex-volumes.jpg 869w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/sol-dex-volumes-300x141.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/sol-dex-volumes-768x361.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-381905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DeFiLlama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>These high volumes were initially assumed to be the primary catalyst causing transaction failures on the network. But were they?<\/p>\n<h4>A case of bot spams?<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/0xMert_\/status\/1776023674098754014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mert Mumtaz<\/a>, CEO of Solana-based developer platform Helius, dismissed the issue at hand, saying most of the failed transactions was due to bots spamming the network.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;About 95% of that entire chart is just bots failing arbitrage attempts,&#8221; Mumtaz argued. He added that the chart was not a reliable indicator of network activity because most users would be made aware of the likelihood of the transaction failing and would drop out.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Realistic or not, here\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">SOL\u2019s market cap in BTC\u2019s terms<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Mumtaz said that the upcoming 1.18 release, intending to improve Solana network&#8217;s performance, might not be able to fix the spamming issue. Network patches might be the solution, he claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the FUD generated on this development caused a 4% slide in SOL&#8217;s price in the 24-hour period, data from <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/solana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CoinMarketCap<\/a> showed.
