{"id":379085,"date":"2024-03-25T06:30:51","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T01:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=379085"},"modified":"2024-03-25T01:39:35","modified_gmt":"2024-03-24T20:09:35","slug":"solana-beats-ethereum-in-stablecoin-trading-volume-how-usdc-helped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/solana-beats-ethereum-in-stablecoin-trading-volume-how-usdc-helped\/","title":{"rendered":"Solana &#8216;beats&#8217; Ethereum &#8211; Did USDC have a say here?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>Solana recorded the highest stablecoin volumes for three months in a row.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><i>Solana&#8217;s rise was linked with the growth of USDC.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/solana-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Solana [SOL]<\/a> has solidified its position as the largest chain for <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/stablecoins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stablecoin<\/a> settlements, outperforming its competitors comprehensively.<\/p>\n<h4>Solana for stablecoins<\/h4>\n<p>According to AMBCrypto\u2019s analysis of Artemis data, the network handled more than $310 billion in stablecoin volumes over the week, more than double that of historically-dominant <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/ethereum-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The weekly surge was part of a broader market capture in 2024, which has seen Solana dominate the rankings for three months in a row.<\/p>\n<p>To ascertain the extent of the turnaround, Solana&#8217;s stablecoin volume in the first three months of 2024 was 3.8x higher than the total volume recorded in the whole of 2023.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_379098\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-379098\" style=\"width: 1148px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/solana-stablecoin-volume.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-379098\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/solana-stablecoin-volume.jpg\" alt=\"Solana stablecoin volume\" width=\"1148\" height=\"542\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/solana-stablecoin-volume.jpg 1148w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/solana-stablecoin-volume-300x142.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/solana-stablecoin-volume-1024x483.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/solana-stablecoin-volume-768x363.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1148px) 100vw, 1148px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-379098\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Artemis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As of the 23rd of March, daily stablecoin volume on the smart contracts network was 60 times more than what it used to be a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>These set of developments were quite unlike the bear market, during which Ethereum and <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/tron-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Tron [TRX]<\/a> cornered more than 80% of the total stablecoin settlement market.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Tron&#8217;s stablecoin volumes largely remained the same in the last three months.
