{"id":373272,"date":"2024-03-01T14:00:24","date_gmt":"2024-03-01T08:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=373272"},"modified":"2024-03-01T13:33:58","modified_gmt":"2024-03-01T08:03:58","slug":"tron-assessing-the-sudden-spike-in-demand-for-the-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/tron-assessing-the-sudden-spike-in-demand-for-the-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Tron: Explaining the sudden spike in demand for the network"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tron\u2019s TVL now sits at a new all-time high.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daily fees and revenue on the network recently climbed to a multi-year high.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The total value locked (TVL) across the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols housed within the <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/tron-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tron network [TRX]<\/a> has reached a new all-time high, according to data from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chain\/Tron\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DefiLlama<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the last month, Tron\u2019s TVL grew by 19% and by 16% on a year-to-date (YTD). The TVL growth on the blockchain comes amid a recent surge in new demand for the network. At press time, the chain\u2019s TVL was $9.36 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_373274\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-373274\" style=\"width: 1726px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Screenshot-2024-03-01-at-05.58.03.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-373274 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Screenshot-2024-03-01-at-05.58.03.png\" alt=\"Tron TVL\" width=\"1726\" height=\"812\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Screenshot-2024-03-01-at-05.58.03.png 1726w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Screenshot-2024-03-01-at-05.58.03-300x141.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Screenshot-2024-03-01-at-05.58.03-1024x482.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Screenshot-2024-03-01-at-05.58.03-768x361.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Screenshot-2024-03-01-at-05.58.03-1536x723.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1726px) 100vw, 1726px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-373274\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DefiLlama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AMBCrypto <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/how-tron-network-towers-over-cardano-with-95m-addresses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> earlier that the hike in the new adoption ratio on Tron since the year began caused the count of its non-zero balance address to rally above 95 million, towering above other Layer 1 (L1) networks such as <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/cardano-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cardano [ADA]<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/avalanche-2-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Avalanche [AVAX]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The surge in network activity was reflected in the growth in TVL across 19 protocols out of the 20 housed within the Tron network in the last month, per DefiLlama data.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the last month marked by significant user activity on Tron, daily transaction fees and revenue also climbed to their highest level in three years on 28th February.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data tracked by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/app.artemis.xyz\/chains\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artemis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> showed that fees paid by Tron users to process their transactions on that day and the revenue derived from the same totaled $2 million. Tron\u2019s fees and revenue have climbed by 119% on a YTD basis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>TRX remains untethered to swings\u00a0<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At press time, the coin\u2019s native coin TRX traded at $0.14. While leading coins <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/bitcoin-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin [BTC]<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/ethereum-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/a> have seen significant upticks in their values in the last week, TRX\u2019s price has only increased by 1% during that period, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/tron\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinMarketCap<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the sharp rise in the values of these assets came with a risk of severe price swings. TRX, on the other hand, appeared not to be prone to that, as an assessment of its price movement on a 12-hour chart revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AMBCrypto observed TRX\u2019s Bollinger Bands (BB), a key market volatility indicator, and found that the gap between the upper and lower bands of the indicator remained narrow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A narrow gap between the upper and lower bands suggests a period of low volatility in the price of the asset.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Realistic or not, here\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">TRX\u2019s market cap in BTC<\/a>\u00a0terms<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was confirmed by its Average True Range (ATR) indicator, which measures market volatility by calculating the average range between high and low prices over a specified number of periods.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has trended downward since 18th February, suggesting a decline in market volatility.
