In fact, taking to X (formerly Twitter), Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart highlighted that over $2 billion was traded on 22 January alone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Volume on the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> ETFs remains very strong. Over $2 billion again today. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24GBTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$GBTC<\/a> still making up a bit more than half. <\/p>\n<p>Total volume in the first 7 trading days is just shy of $19 billion. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AGaJMsnC9S\">pic.twitter.com\/AGaJMsnC9S<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; James Seyffart (@JSeyff) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JSeyff\/status\/1749554009021481007?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 22, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3><strong>GBTC outflows<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the newly launched funds from companies such as <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/blog\/blackrock-hits-pause-on-xrp-etf-dreams-amid-regulatory-ripple\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BlackRock<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Bitwise, and Fidelity have experienced inflows, billions of dollars in Bitcoin (BTC) have been withdrawn from Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC). <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This significant shift in investor preference is likely due to lower fees and greater liquidity offered by these new products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notably, GBTC saw its largest outflow yet on 22 January, exceeding $640 million. This marks a continued and escalating trend in outflows, with the total hitting $3.45 billion to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">date.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seyfart tweeted,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWoof. BAD day for #Bitcoin ETFs overall in the Cointucky Derby. $GBTC saw over $640 million flow out today. Outflows aren&#8217;t slowing &#8212; they&#8217;re picking up. This is the largest outflow yet for GBTC.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/blog\/top-5-crypto-bankruptcies-filed-recently-and-its-effects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FTX&#8217;s bankruptcy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> estate significantly impacted the market by liquidating all of its holdings of 22 million GBTC shares. This divestment, valued at approximately $1 billion, is a major contributor to the recent outflows from GBTC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, despite significant outflows from GBTC, it maintained over half of the total trading volume impressively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>A look at BTC inflows<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, recent data from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lookonchain.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lookonchain<\/span><\/a> highlighted<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0significant activity among major Bitcoin ETFs. The iShares Bitcoin Trust added 4,808 BTC (worth approximately $194.4 million) from Coinbase Prime, bringing its total holdings to 33,431 BTC (valued at around $1.33 billion) to date.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">iShares Bitcoin Trust (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BlackRock?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BlackRock<\/a>) received 4,808 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a>($194.4M) from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CoinbasePrime?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#CoinbasePrime<\/a> 9 hours ago and currently holds 33,431 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a>($1.33B).<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ey1nrZJiiP\">https:\/\/t.co\/ey1nrZJiiP<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1zBuRhENrj\">pic.twitter.com\/1zBuRhENrj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Lookonchain (@lookonchain) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lookonchain\/status\/1749614806561370323?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 23, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, the Fidelity Bitcoin ETF (FBTC) received an influx of 5,312 BTC (worth about $216.3 million), reaching a total of 29,907 BTC (approximately $1.22 billion).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) acquired 1,352 BTC (valued at $55.71 million) from Flow Traders, with its current holdings at 10,152 BTC (approximately $412.71 million).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>A surge in numbers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The remarkable ETF journey began on 11 January 2024, when the U.S. approved the trading of Bitcoin ETFs. On the first day of trading, the combined volume across all Bitcoin ETFs exceeded $4.6 billion. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GBTC, after its conversion to an ETF, reported a volume of approximately $2.3 billion.
