Notably,<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/bitcoin-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin [BTC]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> rose exponentially, while altcoins like<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/solana-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Solana [SOL]<\/span><\/a> showed promise as well<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>A look back at 2023<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinGecko recently posted a<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/research\/publications\/2023-annual-crypto-report\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a> that<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> highlighted how the crypto market rose in the last year. The report mentioned that Ethereum, the king of altcoins, closed 2023 at $2,294, representing a gain of more than 90.5% in the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Importantly, there were no notable price changes in April after the Shanghai Upgrade was put into effect and allowed for the withdrawal of staked Ethereum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_364417\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-364417\" style=\"width: 725px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/CoinGecko-ETH-.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-364417 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/CoinGecko-ETH-.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"722\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/CoinGecko-ETH-.png 725w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/CoinGecko-ETH--300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/CoinGecko-ETH--150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/CoinGecko-ETH--80x80.png 80w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/CoinGecko-ETH--100x100.png 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 725px) 100vw, 725px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-364417\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: CoinGecko<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinGecko also pointed out that Solana climbed 917.3% in 2023, from $10.0 to $101.3. Average daily trading volume also spiked in 2023, averaging $827.0 million in Q1 before spiking to $2.0 billion in Q4.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Speaking of cryptos, we must also mention the performance of the king of cryptos, Bitcoin. Its price increased significantly by 155.2% in 2023. In 2023 Q4 alone, BTC rose 64.3%, from $26,918 to $42,220.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taking into consideration the above increases, CoinGecko\u2019s co-founder and COO, Bobby Ong, noted,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c2023 turned out to be a strong year of recovery for the crypto industry, with regulatory concerns addressed and last cycle\u2019s excesses purged.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h4><b>An altcoins summer in 2024?\u00a0<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the year 2023 was more of a recovery, 2024 might be different as the altcoins might begin bull rallies. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ong predicted,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Going into 2024, the projects that have been building during the bear market have strengthened crypto\u2019s tech stack and launched new apps, and we\u2019re excited to see what the next developments will be.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Therefore, to better understand what to expect from top altcoins like ETH and SOL, AMBCrypto checked their metrics. CoinMarketCap\u2019s<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/ethereum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> revealed that ETH was up by nearly 7% in the last seven days. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At press time, it was trading at $2,546.84 with a market capitalization of over $306 billion. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We then checked Ethereum\u2019s liquidation levels to see at what points it might face resistance if it manages to maintain its bull rally. The token\u2019s value surged by nearly 5% in the last 24 hours alone. At press time, it was<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/solana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trading<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at $101.57 with a market cap of over $43 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Realistic or not, here&#8217;s<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SOL market cap in BTC&#8217;s terms<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To see whether the uptrend would last, we took a look at its daily chart.
