{"id":363821,"date":"2024-01-15T02:00:21","date_gmt":"2024-01-14T20:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=363821"},"modified":"2024-07-31T14:40:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T09:10:25","slug":"celsius-sends-eth-worth-125-mln-to-exchanges-why","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/celsius-sends-eth-worth-125-mln-to-exchanges-why\/","title":{"rendered":"Celsius sends ETH worth $125 mln to exchanges &#8211; Why?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Celsius has begun transferring its ETH holdings to exchanges.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CEL\u2019s future Open Interest has continued to plunge.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bankrupt cryptocurrency lender Celsius Network [CEL] has transferred over $125 million worth of <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/a> to major exchanges within the past week, data from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/platform.arkhamintelligence.com\/explorer\/entity\/celsius-network\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arkham Intelligence<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> revealed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Information retrieved from the data provider showed that Celsius has sent\u00a0 $95.5 million worth of its ETH holdings to Coinbase, while $29.73 million worth of ETH has been transferred to FalconX. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At press time, Celsius&#8217; remaining ETH holdings sat at roughly 539,000 tokens, valued at approximately $1.38 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an earlier <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereum-how-celsius-latest-move-might-impact-your-eth-holdings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the troubled crypto lender announced that it initiated a process of recalling and rebalancing its assets, part of which was unstaking its ETH holdings. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Celsius, this was to meet its liabilities under the bankruptcy proceedings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following this announcement, some analysts <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Luigi_Vampa1\/status\/1743064683592941713\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">opined<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that flooding the markets with large volumes of ETH coins would put downward pressure on its value. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the hype around the recently approved Bitcoin Spot ETF forestalled this, as the altcoin market saw a significant rally in the just concluded week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to data from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinMarketCap<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ETH\u2019s value has climbed by 13% in the last seven days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>CEL on a weekly chart<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amid the rally in the altcoin market experienced in the last week, CEL has managed to record a 4% price surge. At press time, the alt exchanged hands at $0.2069.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Celsius intensifies restructuring efforts, the demand for CEL has plummeted significantly in the past few months. In the last month alone, CEL\u2019s price declined by 24%.
