However, in recent times, recently launched L2 network Arbitrum [ARB]\u00a0has gained significant prominence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How does Arbitrum compare to Polygon?<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Comparing the volume and TVL of Polygon and Arbitrum<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An analysis of <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/polygon-can-high-network-activity-push-matic-north\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Polygon&#8217;s<\/a> volume trajectory on <a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chain\/Polygon?volume=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DefiLlama<\/a> indicated an uptrend at press time. Towards the end of December, it reached its second-highest volume of the year, approximately $435 million. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2023&#8217;s peak volume occurred in March, reaching around $669 million. Notably, Polygon&#8217;s volume surpassed $1 billion only once in 2021, exceeding $2 billion. Conversely, <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/arbitrums-dominance-soars-as-these-metrics-break-barriers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arbitrum&#8217;s<\/a> TVL was over $2 billion, showing an upward trend in the past few weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the last 24 hours, Arbitrum&#8217;s volume was over $405 million. Notably, in the new year, Arbitrum&#8217;s volume has surpassed $1.8 billion twice.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_362540\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-362540\" style=\"width: 874px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-1-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-362540\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-1-1.png\" alt=\"Arbitrum TVL and Volume\" width=\"874\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-1-1.png 874w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-1-1-300x185.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-1-1-768x475.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 874px) 100vw, 874px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-362540\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Defillama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4><b>The L2 conversation\u00a0<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to data analyzed by AMBCrypto via <a href=\"https:\/\/l2beat.com\/scaling\/summary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L2 Beats<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/vitalik-buterin-lauds-arbitrum-arb-rallies-22-in-24-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arbitrum<\/a> stood as the most dominant Layer 2 (L2) network at press time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During this time, Arbitrum commanded nearly 50% of the market share, boasting a total value locked (TVL) of over $9.8 billion. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In stark contrast, Polygon ranked 12th with a comparatively modest $111 million, holding less than 1% of the market share.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This data underscored a significant shift in the L2 landscape, signaling that other networks have moved past <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/can-polygon-zkevm-replicate-2023s-success-in-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Polygon<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not only were these alternative L2 networks generating higher volumes, but they were also attracting a larger user base, as indicated by their growing market shares.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>MATIC follows market trends as ARB detaches<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AMBCrypto&#8217;s examination of Polygon&#8217;s daily timeframe chart showed the impact of the recent market movement on its price. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the 3rd of January, Polygon experienced a significant price crash of around 11.8%, and since then, it has struggled to recover. Despite the broader market downturn, Arbitrum gained over 8%.
